Guest Guests Posted 29/09/06 05:47 AM Share Posted 29/09/06 05:47 AM HEY MATE,The difference between disconnecting and not disconnecting is simply the time it takes for the Carputer to detect the new fuel.Disconnecting the battery, will allow the car to simply learn a new fuel without having to modify from a pre-learnt fuel table, which could take anywhere up to 1-2 tanks of fuel. It's busy so stock is turned over quickly, the price is best in area, I get 4c Woolies discount and also have shares in Woolies and Caltex (to ease the pain). So it all makes sense to me. Posted 16/05/07 01:54 AM Share Posted 16/05/07 01:54 AM I have been using the BOOST 98 united fuel for the last 3 months. It's a hell of alot cheaper, and the car runs a hell of alot better. I question your fuel economy figures though. I have lost about 20-30kms a tank since I started using it, but the price more than offsets that.Example on Sunday the Shell 700 mtrs from my house had standard unleaded at 129.9c/pl. Optimax was 139.9c/pl. United 3kms down the road had standard unleaded for 127.5c/pl, unleaded plus ( standard 91 with 5% ethenol ) for 121.9c/pl and BOOST 98 for 127.9c/pl.The other thing is, I have a tune for the drags, and it needs occy booster, or it pings. Running the BOOST 98 and this tune, there is no ping whatsoever! +1 for the extra octane and oxygen that ethenol brings to the table. I beleive the only issue is, don't leave it sitting in the tank if you go away. Use it all and put some standard fuel in it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am a guy and do change amounts to make stories sound better. :violin:Obviously on freeway hard to hit boost and still keep licence.What you get out of tank.. From our driveway to our house in Bendigo, it's 170km 1 way. She can do the return trip and and a little more during the week in Bendigo. House in Bendigo is only 8 kms from her work, and is all straight down the one road. Average we are getting 400kms to the tank. But in saying that, I filled up the other week, and Fatz drove my car for 3 odd hours around Melbourne, and he was up her nearly always. We dropped over 1.2 tank in that time!
