Caltex Vortex,

Tried all the other 98RON rated fuels, didn't mind Mobil and BP, but alwats came back to Caltex, just seemed to run smoother and a lot crispier.

I stay away from OPTI CRAP, oh and also the 'save 8c' per litre when you use the shopper docker and VISA, VISA charges a surcharge when you use your card!!!!!! They can suck my

Someone I work with said he called into a Liberty petrol station in Melbourne and filled up with 92 RON. While doing so he looked at the bowser and saw the 98 RON was 6 cents a litre cheaper than the 92 RON.

At the time he just thought it to be a mistake or the pump price hadn't been updated.

I informed him that I had read about a "farmers fuel" in which they use 10% ethanol from wheat. On telling him this he said he saw the CSR symbol next to the 98 RON price on the sign out front but thought nothing of it.

From other threads/ other forums I have read of people having unknowingly using this fuel without any noticable problems.

I guess at the price you could be tempted to give it a go.

BP Ultimate for me 90% of the time, optimax the rest. There the only two 98 octane fuels available where I am at the moment

I use 98 ron ethanol blend works fantastic actually has a higher ron than bp ultimate aparantly no ping at all on ethanol blend on my high map slight hint with bp!! cheap to

Optimax. Need all the help I can get in the Focus

In the T, I used to run a tank of Caltex (Vortex 95RON) through every now and again, and I think that helped - clean out the lines or something.

Shell Optimax for me, mainly because the Shell servo is just down the road.

I've also used BP Ultimate from time to time and to be honest, I can't tell the difference?

I done really care, so long as the servo is relatively new and with high turnover.
