I run 95 in my xr6t, fueled up at the station with the WORST 95 fuel I know of ( was a bit slugish on my xr6t and my carbed 302 windsor ) and took it to get dynoed on that.

It got 250 rwkw and it drives and accelerates great.

Any garage I go to get 95/98 now I know my car will still perform as good, if not better then when it was dynoed.

If you want the best figure on a dyno put the best fuel you can in it, but if you want the best driveability without driving all over town to find the best fuel (in NZ most towns and small cities dont have 98) I think this is a good way of doing it.

Just my thoughts on the subject, cheers

Who is to know the tankers at servos are really delivering 98? Or mistakenly Putin 95 into 98 storage underground tanks !!!

I wonder about this as well.

When XFT last tuned my ute, they kept asking me if I'm definitely running 98 as they were getting pinging early.

I am 100% sure I've not put anything other than 98 in and 80% of the time, its from a particular BP which I made sure I fuelled up at the couple of tanks prior to my tune.

I'm going to start using others now and see what happens. especially if I'm doing another tune.

BP Ultimate or Shell V Power, I work in the fuel industry and yes the tanker driver can stuff up and drop the wrong product in a tank and if his not honest some drivers cop the consequence and hence have a bad dealing with the supplier.
