Don`t both BP and Caltex have a refinery at Pinkenba ( spel ) ??

I have always avoided Caltex products ( for no particular reason lol ) but I know fill up with their beaut E85 :)

I really think its about the servo you go to much less the fuel company.

More a case of how dodgey Apu the owner is and if he blends you up some sweet tollie brew or if his 98 is 50/50 reg ULP.

Thank you, come again..

Yeah I think so, but apparently they share some of the fuels to complement each other or something. But I do know when caltex was out due to the fire a few years ago optimax and generic brands were the only 98ron you could get in brissie.

But I agree that it all comes down to the servo, I always make a point of filling up in a high-volume joint even if it means waiting for a bowser.

Usually use caltex purely because they are on the right (left...not right) side of the road coming home from work, but couldn't really give a rat's bottom what juice goes in to be honest.

Not sure if this poll has been run before (or how many times! blink.gif ), but I was just wondering what fuel you guys regularly use in your T's? The owner's manual says it runs best on 95RON PULP, but that it's also tuned to work fine on regular 91RON ULP.

For your info, I alternate between regular ULP and 95RON, depending on whether I or my wife fills it up!! :fool:blink.gif

I don't really see the point in using 98RON in a stock T, unless of course you've had something like an edit done with a custom tune to specifically take into account the fact that you are running 98RON fuel on a regular basis. :msm:

Also, have the recent hikes in fuel prices changed what you use at all?

Mate I was using 91 octaine with otcaine booster, and my mechanic said my spark plugs were dirty as all f*ck as the would misfire on a cold start up, said it was directly contributed to using 91 octaine, and that I should use a minimum of 95 octaine, so if that's doing that to the plugs, you could just image the sh*t going into the engine... I usually use 95 most of the town, and occasionlly when I go on road trips I use 98 octaine, just to give all the conponents a nice clean and lube job while you're taking it for a decent run..
