hey all, well after weeks of deliberating between the GT and F6, ive just paid a deposit on a brand new F6 Typhoon in silhouette for immediate delivery once the finance co pull their fingers out and give them the cash !!

its all pre approved so if im very lucky I can pick it up today (10:40am at the mo) so its going to be a loooooooooooooooongggggggggg mofo day !!

hopefully il be getting it tinted tomorrow in a charcoal coloured tint with slight silver mirroring, then next week it will be going into the audio shop to get new 6.5 splits in the front doors, 5.25's in the back, and a custom boot with 2 x 15"s getting about 500wrms each... awww yeh cant wait to have some bass again !!

il post pics as soon as I can, providing I can get out of the drivers seat long enough haha !!

on a side note, anyone had a run against the current model SS ute?? my mates just bought one and im hoping stock for stock id at least keep up with him??? lightweight ute + Gen III = should be pretty fast??

cause if he beats me it might be EDIT time, F*ck the warranty haha

Congrats mate I have a black MKII T....good luck keeping it clean!!!!

I put two 12's (alpine +alpine amp) in the other day and it sounds $sh*t off the factory deck even with premium....consider an alternative deck some how if you want GOOD soundng bass. Dont know about the current model but the LS1 can be beaten.....LS2's require a $hit driver to be left behind. What dealership you getting it from. Ive only driven one phoon but Id say you should flog him.........mmmmm phooon....

mmmm Silhouette F6 Typhoon.... Yummy!

The new SS ute's deserve respect (with the right driver of course) for sure.

For quick utes - in one of the current motoring mags, they compare the Maloo, the Super Pursuit, and the F6 Tornado.

The HSV Maloo is one quick utility - even though it has a different chassis and suspension that's near-useless for a load...

Why not Edit the F6 anyway, and prove the point somewhat decisively... with three mates in the car? :stirthepot:

thanks guys, well this guys ute is the SS, not a Maloo or anything so it isnt the LS2 6.0, its the Gen III 5.7 which I is 250kw/470nm ... still it should go all right but yeh Phoon + Edit + 3 chicks in car + esky should OWN him bigtime haha

IH8PORK - What do you use to keep it clean?? I usually use nothing but zaino and I'm a detailing *beep* so im prepared for the worst hahaha.. if I do get the car today, my saturday will be spent zainoing it and sunday running it in and smiling hahah

Are you running your amps etc straight off the highlevel outputs from the factory head unit?? All my mates in the game have recommended an AudioControl LC6 converter that will totally clean up the factory head units sound plus an optional sub level controller..

Supposedly its just as good as an aftermarket deck but is only around the $3-350 mark which isnt too bad.. You can always add in a DVD/satnav source later

You will have no problems dispatching a gen III.

Come down to the plex and have a play next wednesday with him.

I've given up cleaning it!!! Everytime I do it rains the next day on the way to work and ends up filthy again. I just use some turtle wax was stuff....but any cleaning recommendations pass them on!!!

Thanks for the audio advice.....I run the amps through a alpine line level converter of the factory head unit. I must check out/hear your system when you get it together as I'm keen as mustard to solve my crappy sound. My subs were great when I ran them off my alpine deck (also had alpine mini disk with equaliser). I also have another alpine amp and splits for the front.

Your mates SS has no chance, but with an exhaust and cam the LS1 can certainly move.

Edit, injectors, 4" dump pipe and 4" cat. (~$3k my cost)

Tune next week for 'hopefully' solid high 12.. Being a ute, it needs that bit more than the sedans to get going.. Yours with the same mods 'should' go a low 12.. pretty impressive these thing BFYB, even stock.. :)
