just wondering if anyone else has had this.

as I was driving yesterday I heard an almighty bang which semed to be like someone had smashed into my car from the rear side. funny thing is there were no other cars around. I then though that I went over someting on the road which hit the car but there was nothing on the road. this is the second time this has happened and I though that maybe the diff fell off.

the car seems to be running fine still. do you think that I should get it checked out. anyone else had this?

it may have been. I just realized that I have changed from using optimax to caltex and have been putting the normal premium in with a normal unleaded in between.

could this be it?

could you tell by driving it if it is a broken cv. there would be a noise or it would not feel right.

the thing is it drives normal.

no other issues at all.

Well if it was a broken CV, the car would most certainly not drive properly. Does the car still go OK if you give it some stick? If it does, then it definitely wont be a broken CV.

It does sound like it's just a loud backfire.

I was under the impression normal unleaded isnt suitable for turbo motor, PULP and Optimax/Ultimate is the only choice.

Dazza.
