Blow Off Valves

last night I vented the standard one, just unpluged where it goes onto the pipe that feeds the turbo(inlet pipe),then pluged up that hole as to not suck in any dust

whoosh brmmmmmm whoosh

but I think the spring in the blow of valve is to week,it vents nearly all the time,so you just back off from slow revs and it goes psssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss until you open gas again

but when driving normal it sounds like any other car with vented valve

and it cost nothing

but I also put it back on last night

not my cup of tea,but good if you want to see what its like

Goobz......correct. Diesels cant be fitted with BOV's so another way to make noise out of them is to shorten the inlet track and install a less restrictive filter. I did this on my diesel 4be and it used to tick and flutter on acceleration and then hiss when you come off the juice......sounded very amusing.

Chris F6 the spring tention in the standard valve is quite strong. Its the design of the BOV that causes venting all the time. I just did another post on this so my fingers are getting sore and my brain going to sleep!!! cheers.

There is no need for an aftermarket BOV its just a cosmetic thing not performance. When you are pushing very high power levels then this changes but for most of us it's just for the sound and (open to debate) is good for your cars long life...

Correct, the GFB is variable so you can direct X% to the atmosphere and X% back to the intact tract.

ChrisF6,

Just curious about the hose you unplug. Did you kink thr hose or just block it with something?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You need to block it or you will suck unfiltered air in through there...

I have found the cap off a wynns injector cleaner bottle fits great!! Its tapered to so its a nice tight fit!!! :spoton:

I used a acerbis spark plug holder,if you must know

but anything will do,use the standard hose, just plug one end up and put it back on,leaving the valve open to air

ok look

if your looking at your car dead straight its on the left of the BOV. to recognise the BOV just look for the writing that says "BOSH" on it. the hose you will be disconnecting will be a 10cm hose (approx) which u will have to cap both exposed ends with chair tips

I know this sounds stupid but I don't want to f*ck it up.

Which end do you unplug?

Is the F6 set up the same a the T as far as BOV?

Is it at the back of the inlet hose near the firewall?

Scroll down till u find the big pics... some I took when I modded my stock bov
