Yeah sounds like they have taken you for a ride...

I've got my car booked in for a service tomorrow, (15,000K) got the price upfront ($250) and if they go 1c over that there will be hell to pay...

Also with the wheel alignment I received a call today from the dealer asking if I'd like a wheel alignment (extra $100 mind you) at this point in time I'm a firm believer of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" my wheels seem to be doing just fine (no signs the alignment is off)

But you've got to love (sorry correction HATE) the way dealers will say a price and let the price slide a little (or a lot...) I just remember one dealer (not with the T) tryed to charge me for some "extra work" which I didn't ask for (or get a phone call about), when I asked for proof the extra work had been done and proof that the extra work was required they said "oh, we've already thrown the old part away". My reply "ok show me the new part". Their reply "but it will be near impossible to see the fix..." (yeah right, me thinks they where pulling my leg here)... my reponse not in so many words was never deal with that dealer again...

Why cant we get something going with a dealer whether it be new oak or coffey or president, where all forum members get special pricing.Hmmmm just an idea anyone want to recommend a dealer that they are buddy with,If they look after the forum the volume will justify the discount. All we want is good service without the over inflated prices.

Vote with your feet.

Service elsewhere that will give you honest advice, real service, not try and ream you sideways with a #3 Philips and smile politely whilst asking for your credit card...

Seriously, after one service with each of the Ford dealers in Canberra, I would only take it to one specific one - and then under pain of suffering to the service manager (and I make sure they know it too) if they try anything dodgy...

I personally get my cars serviced at a place where they can do all warranty work and do not use 1st year apprentices to work on my $50,000 car... In other words not a Ford dealership... :P

Had dealings with the same Hobart dealer when I was down there and their service was 1st class...shame some of the mainland dealers don't follow their example :spoton:

Interium service? could of saved yourself $200 and changed the oil yourself :spoton:

I spend all day arguing with these jokers! just argue the cost down, trust me, they have room to move even on what is considered the best price!!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I don't have the time, or the inclination for that matter...

I work 6 days up to 10 hours day, it's usually dark when I get home and my garage is too small and my driveway is on a slope and...and...is that enough excuses?! :spoton:

Seriously, I don't mind paying a fair price for this sort of work to be done but I think this is way over the top. :glad:

Spoke to my boss about the matter and he made a call to the manager of the other branch where I got the service done and they offered to do my next service at a greatly reduced rate. Not sure if I'll bother going there again, might try and find a non-dealer that charges less than $94/hr. :gooff:
