Engine Internal limit (conrods and pistons)

Hi Guys,

I know this question has been asked before but I just wanted to get a clear idea of what the limit of the engine internals ( conrods and pistons) are KW wise?

I have been hearing mix numbers from 320 to 360rwkw. The advise would be appreciated from people who have done this and know the limit of the engine.

id say 330rwkw because I think that's what the tuning places (aps, nizzerz) change your internals at when they do their kits..

I presume you mean XR6T internals?

General consensus is @ 330rwks but Id say that could vary wildly depending on who is tuning it …bad tune could see a hole in the block @ 250rwkws and a good tune could see 375rwkws without a problem.

A good example is Simon who runs his F6 @ over 400rwkws and hasn’t taken the rocker cover off but F6 has a few stronger bits inside STD.

well said and considering that the rods are the main diference and they are only about 10% stronger a good tuner will give you 360rwkw all else upto the task!

PRO XR6 has been at 360rwkw on stock internals for 10 months now and no dramas yet.

It is a FIST car that's probably why?

I'm going for 350 to 360rwkw when simon tunes my car this friday. its a manual mk11 turbo. That's if I get my billet flywheel in time and simon makes it back from melbourne alright and on time. I'l let u guys no how it goes and how it holds up. I have got nizpro valve springs and inlet manifold though
