Fuel Savers

Recommended Posts

As petrol prices are going up I took a look at some of the rubish for sale on Ebay.

After typing in Fuel Saver these products came up,

Super fuel Saver

QX3 Fuel Chip

High Frequency Converter

Aren't there laws in this country that prevent crap like this from being sold, if not there should be.

I looked at that Vaporate product some time ago and didn't try it because theres just no one out there testing these products independantly and this is my only real point who tests these gimics? Why is it up to us?

I would more call ACA and Today Tonight a modern day Brothers Grimm. They are tellers of fantastic tales and far fetched

I am currently trying the "Dyno-tab" sold at Mobil stations in the wifes Mazda.

At $3.50 each tablet, good for 60 litres it would have to be a big saving, but a thought I would give it a go.

So far the results are good about 1 litre per 100klm's saving, but that is only the first tank. I still have other tabs to do another 60 lts then I will have a better idea.

Repco are selling something called vaporate http://www.vaporate.com/ this is a collar that goes on each injector. It is suppose to create finer droplets of fuel as it enters the combustion chamber.

The test results show a considerable reduction in nitric oxides due to improved combustion, and claim 10-20% fuel saving. Its worth a look at the site because 2 of the road test vehicles are XR6 Turbos.

Is it true if you use enough of the fuel saving devices your tank will end up overflowing? Ha Ha.

Well had a win with the Vaporate. I'm having it fitted for free on Friday as the distributor in our area wants a few on road test vehicles to help promote the product.

I went in today to enquire and was asked if I wanted to participate. It takes about 2 hours to fit to a BA because the inlet manifold gasket has to be replaced.

I will keep the Forum informed as to the results.
