I didnt mind the XR6T and I think it has a heap of potential. Just look at ADAM running in the 9's. I just hated the fact that they are a dime a dozen and are everywhere. I also hate the re-sale value and the fact Ford cant stick to one type of car and series and keep adding bits and pieces and calling it MK II or III. I feel sorry for the people who have spent more than me and cant get back 1/2 of what they paid for the car and realising the payout is 10K more. That is what happened to me. I am paying the difference this time and dont really care and wont look back. It really sucks.

Speaking of resale value, the EVO IX will be the last of the legendary LANCER Evolutions. The EVO X is going to be Colt based. This may very well help keep the value of this car good.

An E36 M3 is easy in the late '30's to mid '50's

A C36 is easy in the late 30's mid 40's

Much better cars in my opinion than a transformed Japanese econo-box, however competent a race car they are.

You can have your opinion Plonky...Its pretty tough trying to keep up with them though...as I found out when my 6 Nissan Skyline GTR's were stolen a few months ago...It was pretty hard or should I say very hard to even come close to the ones that were chased. They definetely out handle and out perform the XR8 and SS police cars as I was told by the officers that were in the pursuit. So I understand your hatred towards them, like every other police officer...which includes a couple of my mates that are Highway Patrol officers at Wetherill Park. They hate the imports as much as you....reason being the young hoons that disrespect their cars by doing stupid things etc...Sorry Plonky but I am not trying offend you or anyone else...everyone is entitled to their opinion...I would love to have the new M6 but cant afford it quiet yet... I would like an M3 or even a E55 AMG but cant afford a new one as I only like to drive new cars. As for the F6..that was an option but 2 1/2 years with 2 Falcons is enough for me...I change my cars very often and import cars as well and enjoy the benefit of driving something different all the time.

No offence taken. I have gone past caring what hoodlums do with their cars. I'm no longer at the HWP as they are only interested in booking Mums and Dads for speeding and any change in the way they do constructive Police work is met with undermining, false criminal allegations and vindictive spiteful behaviour.

The point I was making that for however competent a race car they are, they would be an absolute chore to drive daily. The ability of the car would be wasted on public roads. I am of the opinion that a used C36 would be a much better car as it was a better base to start with.

They're a car that is not for me. I couldn;t justify spending $60k on a transformed econo-box no matter how good it is on a track. They are tiny and ugly and are made by a company that built aircraft to shoot down Allied planes and bombed Darwin if you really want to know. Besides the Japs beheaded my grandfather in Changi !

Zap, l have heard of people buying a car one day and then ordering the extras/options the next on a seperate invoice and avoiding LCT. Not sure if it would work but worth a try.

l am not a fan of the stock wheels, does anyone have pic of the optional ones included in the Bilstein pack? Looks like a lot of car for the money

Thanks Mondie, I did this with my T as they wanted another $1,500 extra for the accessories because of LCT. They did not know that LCT is applied to the final figure....you would think the dealer would know the rules on LCT. In the end I had 2 invoices for the car, the finance company was not happy, but it worked out in the end.
