Earthing cables are extra points in the engine bay where 'earth straps' are connected to the chassis, giving better current flow thru the electrical system when it's under load.. Alot of Japs use this system and can give a few kw's in gains.. As they say, everyone gets the big fat +'ve cables, but neglet the earth. the japs think of everything.

Suspension, well you might say the Mitsi will be hard and unbearable, I dissagree. Get out of the Mitsi and back in the T and you will realise how poor the suspension is in the T.

As mentioned u adapt and it becomes 'the norm' Just like u get used to the power your car makes, you will take for granted how well the Evo will handle.

If you can get insured for that price, well jump at it but hell, what's the excess???????

Check out the RC Developments Evo 30-130MPH in 7 seconds dead with 0-60mph in 3.02 seconds. Impressive stuff from 4 cylinders.

The UK boys are making 220kw @ all 4 with just engine management, nothing else on the E9's...

I used to love Mitsubishi's...until I bought one.

My first new car was a 1997 Pajero GLS and it was a POS. :msm:

Combined with Mistu's service dept made the Ford look rock solid.

Stuff like the attached still makes me wonder about their engineering prowess.

Cost cutting cheap ass aproach just gets the job done but with very small margin for error. :msm:

At least that's what I keep telling myself when I didn't want to pay the insureance on an EVO XIII. :msm:

Have a read and see what you guys reckon.

Zap I'll be interested to see what you think after your test drive..

I'm curous now as I am over 30 with full NCB and used for business the best I can get for the EVO is over $3k. :mexicanwave:

Who is the insurance with?

And how did you manage to spend $60k+ on a T as a company car, no fleet discount there I guess, my F6 was less than that on the road. :spoton:

I am 31 living in Sydneys West with a rating 1 or 60% No claim bonus with a 29 year old second driver and have been quoted $1532.00 for $65000 agreed value on the EVO 9. And that's with AAMI. the only catch is that it is nominated drivers only, which is better for me anyway.

Apart from very ugly (though beauty is in the eye of the beholder) I would have a lot of trouble putting up with a little car with all the qualities of a track car being driven on roads that would not be out of place in the Greek mountains.

If it floats your boat buy it......I would certainly spend the money elsewhere in particular on a second hand Porsche, Benz or BMW.

used M3? bit more dosh though

An E36 M3 is easy in the late '30's to mid '50's

A C36 is easy in the late 30's mid 40's

Much better cars in my opinion than a transformed Japanese econo-box, however competent a race car they are.

The only problem with the second hand sports cars is the upkeep on these cars.

M3's, 911's etc are all VERY expensive to maintain, especially the way I drive.

While I can understand what people say about the looks and interior of these cars, I am not looking at this car for the interior or the looks. Only the performanc and handling.

They may be based on a $20k lanser, but they have a lot of go fast parts that are designed to be flogged on the road and track. My previous 1998 GSR lanser was on the track every month for nearly 4 years and NEVER had a problem. I only did one CV joint that was a faulty part and was replaced in the fuirst 5,000km. I put 102,000km on that car, 5 sets of tyres and flogged the crap out of it every day and all it wanted was more punnishment. Mitsubishi know how to build a solid and reliable performance car. I will not take my T to the track as it feels to fragile to go hardcore on the track, but I guess it was not built with that in mind.

The BFYB of these cars are unbelivable, while they are not the same "type" of car as the T, I am not looking for a replacement, but a change. The T is a fast cruiser, not a point and shoot track weapon. I have the wife's Kluger for faimly drives, but the E9 has 3 child restraint point...the problem is they do not come with HANS devices to stop the kids getting whiplash :stirthepot:

Is that insured for business or just private use?
