I am expecting a test drive this week sometime, the dealer thinks they will have one tomorrow.

The chassis is different because it is a AWD, so it is apparently different to the FWD stocko lancers.  They also are MUCH stiffer with 200 more spot welds.

I agree about the interior, they are VERY basic, but they have a standard double DIN for the headunit, so it can be replaced, and the rest of the interior is not too bad.  My major consern is how stiff the suspension is, if it is really stiff, I may not get it as I would use it as a daily driver.

I will make sure I get pics.

In my experience with the Sti you get used to the suspension suprsingly quickly. My Sti is lowered with even stiffer suspension than stock and l honestly dont notice it at all, we humans are pretty adaptable  Its only when l have driven something else and get back in it that l notice the "on rails" feeling which l like so much. try not to let this put you off in a test drive.

Of course, l didnt relise that all other ancers are FWD, doh. l guess that is a pretty different chassis then :spoton:

Looking forward to pics and your comments on the drive.

I wanted to keep it a secret. But I suppose I cant anymore. I have actually left a hefty deposit for an EVO 9 last week. I have been told that I will get delivery in 2 weeks. I cant wait. I have traded the XR6T in and was upset with the valuation. I didnt expect to lose nearly 10K in just under 9 months. I have driven 2 EVO 7's previously and even 1 EVO 8 recently and I cant get enough. I was looking at an STI to a certain point but thought I have already been down the Subaru road years ago. I originally ordered an EVO 8 back in 2004 but never had delivery of the vehicle as they couldnt supply me the colour. But this time around they are providing a guarantee.

I dont think I will keep it standard either. I think exhaust, coilover suspension, Air induction and 20inch wheels are compulsory. Oh and the dark tints, so no-one can see my rough head. :tease:

I spoke to the dealer today and they will have the car next wednesday...problem is I will be in queensland :bouncey: , so he booked the drive for the day I get back.

They said I could be in one before the end of this month

When I test drive it, I have told them we are going to my place to test the driveway, I think it will be ok due to the shorter wheelbase of the car. If it scrapes, I will :bouncey:

My wife asked last night "So if you get the Evo, you are not going to spend all the money on it making it go faster, like you have done with the T"?, My answer "yes I will, my car is NEVER quick enough" :bouncey:

The insurance is $1400 as I am rating 1 and over 30.

The changeover cost may be the deal killer as I bought a optioned up T 15 months ago ($60k+), but its a company car, so I can play around with leasing etc.

In regards

........

• Earthing cables $214.50

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'm curous now as I am over 30 with full NCB and used for business the best I can get for the EVO is over $3k. :hrmm:

Who is the insurance with?

And how did you manage to spend $60k+ on a T as a company car, no fleet discount there I guess, my F6 was less than that on the road. :hrmm:

And what the hell are earthing cables?

Do thay also charge extra for the wheel nuts? :spoton:

I got premo's and luxury pack as well as satnav. That bumped the price up a fair wack even with fleet rate.

I did a online quote on NRMA website, but my fleet insurance said today they will do it for the same as the T ($1200) as the Evo9 comes with soem SMS/GPS alarm.

I have no idea what the "earth cable" option is, even the dealer did not know, I suspect its like the circle earth mod that is meant to give better earthing, thus better power. I am sceptical of this. :msm:
