Brilliant!

And at 144mph, phoar, that's what... roughly 230... Yeah 230 sounds right.

Mighty fast, love your work!

This is what real, hard hitting torque does to a car. It gives the thing an extremely high average applied power figure (massive area under the curve) and you just can't help but move fast when you apply this much grunt to the road!!

Absolutely awesome!

Great work Adam.

How much have you done to lighten the car?

That must be the next thing to do to drop the times for not much cash?

You could go:

- Carbon bonnet, front wings, boot

- lexan windows on all passenger doors (except driver?), remove electric window mechanisms.

- remove some interior? (I know you are keeping it as a road car too)

I am sure you could save a 100kgs easy - maybe more, without changing the look of the car at all.

he did want it keep it a street car, and a comfortable one at that.. maybe he can just loose some weight :spoton:

In of of the videos that was posted on putfile you could see inside the car and showed the door trims etc had been removed but I doubt it would reduce the weight by much.

I would remove the whole guts of the 3 passenger doors - and put the trims back on to disguise the fact. Glass and electric window winders can weigh heaps, in fact I am sure you could easily save 200kgs, and still have the car look pretty much exactly the same. The only problem is passengers couldnt open their windows. The rear window could go as well (though that might provide some strength to the car).

The big seats in the XR6T weigh lots. two front aftermarket jobs would save lots.

I am sure someone can come up with an effective horsepower gain for each kg lost - Lawsey? It can make a huge difference.

that would make it more of a race car, than a daily driver. dont u think its abit extreme to start ripping off heavy bits from the car?

Not at all - as long as it is discrete. eg carbon panels - painted the same as the car - you wouldnt even know. Lexan windows - how often does he carry passengers who need to open windows all the time? I guess you could have two sets of doors - but that would be a pain.

The body on my Cobra is made of Kevlar - the whole car! it doesnt have windows - juts an aeroscreen - and that is still fine to drive on the road.

Some things are done for cheapness (steel panels), and maximum versatility (electric windows), I guess it is all a balancing act.

that's why I suggest leaving his drivers door alone, and keeping seats, and door trims. I bet he takes the spare out for example!
