I put around 70L a week into the car (out of my own pocket), and assuming fuel went up 20c/L that still only equates to $14/week... a 0.25% home loan increase would impact me far more, yet people whine far less about something like that.When I see people on TV saying how higher fuel prices mean they can't drive their kids to school any more (god I must've overhead an ad for "A Current Affair" or something) I just laugh at the tabloid journalism and typical "battling aussie" who needs something to whine about. The range indicator was also into single figures for the first time since I've owned the car. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>You've obviously never owned a landcruiser. My last car before the T was a petrol 80 series. My god that thing could drink. 2 years ago it cost $140 to fill up(main and sub tank), and I would get around 600 - 650 k's out of that!!! My neighbours brother had a diesel 80 series though and he could get from Sydney to noosa on a single fill!!! Exact opposite. But if you're in Melbourne, check Jefferson Ford South Melbourne. I've also been told orders have to be in by thursday, else you have to wait for the new model.I also don't think ford have screwed anyone over, as I don't believe the resale value is going to change. This is a runout deal, and they do it at the change of EVERY model. The new car will most likely have a few more options (inc a nice 6sp auto, but we all know that) and will more than likely cost more than the current model. Its one thing to discount existing stock but to slash the price on a made to order car is screwing existing owners over big time IMO. You just have to look how poor resale is for such a popular car, it should be better. As far as I can tell with these sales they are simply cutting into the haggle room (Prob even a couple of grand above the lowest they will go in the hope ppl don't haggle...)I'm not getting to worried in regards to resale... (And I'm on a lease) as I knew I was going to lose money on a car (it's a fact of life) and no matter which company I went for I was going to lose out...If it was meant to be an actual investment (beyond an investment in my enjoyment) I'd have brought shares...
