Fulch Member 74 Member For: 20y 3m 11d Location: Gold Coast Posted 03/09/05 10:55 AM Share Posted 03/09/05 10:55 AM Im all for the driver education - but I must say that it becomes a very fine line between increasing the skill level of all drivers - yes including those who have 30yrs of bad habits (no age barriers) and creating over confidence amongst some, any new skill needs to be practiced to be maintained. Maybe licences should be issued on a demonstrated skill basis - not just road rules and hill starts.....................

harvyk Member 1,070 Member For: 19y 9m 19d Location: The North Cooma End of Canberra... Posted 05/09/05 04:16 AM Share Posted 05/09/05 04:16 AM What I'd like to see is laws that don't work on age (their crap) but rather laws that say your not allowed to drive powerful cars period until you have been taught how to drive them properly... (This is period inc ppl who already drive these cars)Telling ppl who are 24years and 364 days old that they can not handle a powerful car because they are to young and yet the next day they are told they are now a good driver??? what a load of ...I want to see a new "code" on all our licenses which states we have been properly taught how to drive the more powerful cars... (I'm thinking a power vs weight ratio type thing...) similar to what you have to do now with a heavy vehicle...Also have no minimal time you have to wait before you can do these courses as it is assessed based purly on your skills not your age...
