Narelle Good to see ths girls with the mod bug congrats!! ok edit is totally changeable yourself you can load any of he available maps in your tuner box yourself takes a few minutes!! as for your auto most havent had to many probs with upto 300rwkw mine died with alot less although I dont think mine was power related.

You should be able to get a flash tuner box and custom tune for around 1300-1400 depending on who you use and what that tuner recomends as a guide a tuner box with 2nd cold air intake and maybe center muffler remove should be good for around 230-250 rwkw again depends on your tuner!! hope that helps

You are comparing different vehicles.

We've seen the before & after dyno graph comparisons of guys vehicles of Unichip vs Edit (with Unichip removed), and properly tuned, and the results have shown both torque coming in earlier, and better mid range torque. There are a number of threads on the issue, as well as published graphs.

And those ex-unichip cars were tuned by different tuners which makes the point of comparing the tunes totally ineffective and baseless.

Using phase II injectors unichip can bring boost on and match it with proper air fuel ratios just as early as edit can. I've seen it done. Any discrepancies with before and after installations of edit are purely, IMO, a refelction of different tuning strategies.

However, the edit does have some good advantages in that it can control certain factory parameters.

Likewise, unichip also has advantages.

Whatever choice you make is best made with proper customer service and support as the main reason for the choice. Find a good tuner that people recommend and check them out. Good luck

oh and another thing, would I need to upgrade the auto if I get either of these mods done??

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

yes on the auto ,I have a aps stage11 kit tuned to 258rwkws and it runs a 12.647 1/4 mile and I think the big advantage the edit has over the uni-chip is that the rev limit can be lifted and in my lay opinion this its why alot of edit cars are know running high 11,s and low 12,s .not because the torque comes on earlier I think the uni-chip can match the edit in that respect.
