Hrmm... I would have considered one, but if it was a factory option then it wouldn't have the same value to the XR8. It wouldn't be the single differentiable body modification. Ford would surely have come up with another way to distinguish the Boss models from the rest...

It would also depend on the kit I was running. If I had the money, this is what my XR6T would look like.

Black with a pearl through it.

DJR bodykit (whatever it is)

No wing

Adjustable whiteline suspension sitting 2cm lower than kings SSL (just slightly lower than what is normally considered super low, It has no wing, this is necessary to make the car look 'thicker')..

I would have either JB's 19" rims (may not suit black), similar rims to pashen or maybe just the herrod 19's (dunno what they are, but I would source them elsewhere).

I'd have a nice deep tint in my windows and leather interior, but a lighter colour (so it doesn't get too hot).

that's how I would have it, if it were a perfect world and I had 100k to buy and modify a brand new car....

But before all that, the car would have had most of the following done.

Nizpro injectors + valve springs + intake plenum. APS cooler. Big piss off 4" exhaust from the turbo back. Mal woods 6 speed + clutch + diff. Fuel pump with a 1.5-2 litre surge tank, a rebuild (arp bolts, forged h beams and a slightly higher comp pistons (why not I say, maybe 0.2 of a point, remember, the next T has 2 knock sensors), slight port of the head (for the hell of it) and, probably a slight hit of laughing gas....

And of course, edited...

But that all costs a rediculous amount of money, money I don't expect to have within the next 10 years...

PS, I'm drooling over my own post.... :spoton::spoton::spoton:

Actually - that is the one sensible thing you have said Lawsy - Holdens seem to have many non-useful vents, bulges etc, particularly the HSV cars, seem to be vented in all directions just for the sake of it.

Those SS vents could be useful - if there was a real hole!

Lawsy - what would you say if the bulge bonnet was a factory option?  Would you have got one?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Gee this is going a little off topic but - I don't mind the Holdens with their vents, bulges etc that you get with the clubbies, it at least gives the cars more character than say the Expensive Daewoo SV6... (Which is ok to drive but gee it's bland... considering it was in about the same price range it had nothing on the XR6T)

Back on topic - the XR8 Bonnets - I love them... I also like the strips and most of the other GT stuff... I don't care that my car is an XR6T, if it wasn't under lease I'd probably do it up a little... Not to try to show up the GT owners but because I like that sort of stuff... DRKXR6 although I think you have made up your mind simply do it, you can't go wrong, and anyway if the bulge doesn't look right you can alway's take it off again...

I was thinking of taking off the wing and putting the bulge on but then it'll sort of look identical to the DJR cars, except for there little wing! Im in no rush but the sooner the better cause I get headaches thinking about what I should do! :)

who gives a sh*t about the xr8 bonnet on a 6 if he wants to do it, let him imo. Will look good. Even better if you get a fibreglass of carbon fibre one from awcinfo.com, they are much lighter than the metal ones.

Absolutely. My new carbon fibre bonnet is so light compared to the factory :msm:

No to turn the rest of the car into carbon fibre :w00t:

Did you (or going to) sand it smooth and paint it or leaving it as is? Getting as much weight off the front end is exellent $$ spent as far as helping the car turn in better. :msm:
