Thanks MrX, by having the Big 8 bonnet doesn't look like im trying to be a XR8! If so I would remove my turbo badges wouldn't I? Does that mean we cant put guages in our turbos cause only FPV cars such as typhoon came out from factory with them!? So that means everyone with guages including me on there dash is a typhoon wannabe! Its only a bonnet! Which stands out better than our XT bonnets!

Yes, but the guages have a practical reason and they can't be seen unless you look hard, from say, 30m away.

From a distance, if anything with a bulge comes up behind me, I think its an XR8 or GT until I can clearly see the front bar....

I'd prefere to be correct in this assumption more times than not, because the bonnet bulge is the SINGLE DISTINGUISHABLE BODY DIFFERENCE between the 2 models...

Why are people so retarded that they can't see this? Its just silly making anything else an arguement here (stickers, badges etc... they barely even rate as characterising visual aspects).

And don't think that I don't like the look of the bonnet bulge. I think it looks absolutely awesome. I completely love the bonnet bulge. I think its one of the hottest bonnets Ford Aus has ever produced, maybe close to the top 5 bonnets I've seen made world wide.

BUT, its there FOR A REASON. To allow the high rise manifold to fit under the hood and to differentiate the V8 Boss models from a frontal shot.

So please, leave your car as it is.

I infact think it looks better the way it is. Your car looks clean. It has clean lines, simple elegant rims and a clean, simple and elegant bodykit. The bulge would make the front end look to busy for your car.

You have character in your car as it is mate, do something original or just put your money into some performance mods. If you get some more grunt you'll get 10x more enjoyment out of your car anyway....

Lawsy, you have stated your opinion.

Please don`t take offense but it is now bordering on harrasment.

You don`t like the bulge, where others do,people should be allowed to do whatever they like to there cars, how many xy falcons went around with shakers that weren`t GT`s.How many G.T replicas are there that now pull good money.

The problem is that Ford left the xr6t with a bonnet that should have had at least had vents and they didn`t.The bulge should have gone on the Turbos as well and maybe they could have vented the back but ford probably had guessed people would want to buy them and could see there was money to be made hence the $1300 price tag.

I say this to you without emotion, find a bonnet that is vented to suit the T or just let people do what they want you are still entitled to your view.

Just one other thing the ss induction pod was out before the Typhoon was released so as far as the gauges go there is no copying the typhoon .my personal opinion is the ss inductin pod with the holess filed and painted to match the trim looks better than the typhoon pod. But again that is my opinion.

I know your passionate so I don`t blame you fully but it is ford who have made this problem .

Go the bulge :spoton:.I've got an XR8 and it doesn't upset me to see one on a T.Should have been factory fitted on all XRs anyway-just like a lower grille.

Totally agree dude.

Hey Darren

do you actually have your GT front bar? I have put an order in for mine.. waiting for shipping costs etc... Just wanted to know what the quality is like and by me putting this bar on will it cause issues with warrenty, airbags or insurance?

Thanks in advance!

Passion for what? You just seem to have a passion for putting down everyone with a bonnet bulge on a t! :spoton::spoton:

Seriously, who cares if you can tell if its a T or an 8?! Its all part of the game. Keep 'em guessing till you floor it and dust 'em. The same reason I don't have a turbo badge on the back of my car...

Making a slow car look fast I will admit is kinda silly cause you just look like a tool when it comes to the crunch, but if that's what your into be my guest. But Putting a bulge on a T in no way comes into this category...

You said yourself that this is one of the hottest bonnets Ford (or anyone for that matter) have produced, and that the T should have gotten them from factory seems a popular opinion. So realistically you just correcting a factory ommission! :spoton:

DRKXR6 - I say go for it dude! they look awesome. One of macka's shackers would look about 2000 times better though, and a performance enhancement all in one!! What a deal!! :tease:

Chris :tease:

Actually - that is the one sensible thing you have said Lawsy - Holdens seem to have many non-useful vents, bulges etc, particularly the HSV cars, seem to be vented in all directions just for the sake of it.

Those SS vents could be useful - if there was a real hole!

Lawsy - what would you say if the bulge bonnet was a factory option? Would you have got one?
