My mate and I when in together on the 2 for edit deal a couple of weeks ago. Any how I finally tried the 10psi tune on Sat, hit 5000rpm in 1st gear and blew the hose off near the battery. So today we fitted propper clamps.

On the insde of my mates hose was covered in oil, mine was clean. :3gears:

Also noticed his T feels a lot doughier. It has fluck all throttle response.

Where could the oil be coming from? :gooff::spoton:

as part of emissions control, oil fumes from the rocker cover are vented to the intake. This can be a source and have noticed it on previous turbo cars. If you have excessive oil on the inlet side of the cooler I would be worried. that's about the extent of my knowledge!!!!

close to right but oil from the cover is caused by to much blowby too so have it checked by a mechanic!!!

Is that hose near the turbo, the waste hose from the turbo or somthin else?

if it is the waste hose then my one had leaking problems too and I toke it to my mechanic and said wtf, because that pipe shouldnt leak as there is no pressure on it, because its juz there for that waste.

neways the mechanic was confused on how this had happpened so he replaced the whole thing.

Thanks everybody for the ideas :stirthepot:

Would a compression test be the best test for for too much blowy? :spoton:

DW,

Could you go into some more detail about blowby? What it is, and how to prevent it if possible. :stirthepot:

Thanks,

Brett

Blowby is caused when the pressure from the combustion escapes past the piston and rings. It puts hot gasses into the sump and is then blown out the PCV valve and into your inlet manifold.

Blowby can be caused by many things including cracked rings/pistons, excessive boost, and detonation. If you are boosting your car higher, then this is just a result and a catchcan would be a good option.

You would be better to get a leakdown test done to see if the cylinders are pressurised correctly.
