Interesting Turbo Issue

maybe im the only one who has had this happen

anyway I discovered a leak between the turbo core and the exhaust housing (only exhaust gass was escaping).. anyway on closer inspection 3 bolts of 6 had has come loose and actually fallen out and the other 3 needed a tighten

could also be because my turbo has been off and rotated andmaybe I dindt tighten enough

spooky... anyway here is a heads up for anyone just in case

Yep this happened to me half way down the 1/4 track at Heathcote! sh*t myself, thought it was a exhaust manafold gasket or something along those lines :thumbsup:

But yeah it was the 2 bolts that came off thanks god!

It's pretty common with turbo cars, it's a wonder they dont use some kind of locking device like a spring washer or something. This fixed the vr4 up no worries, just some stainless steel spring washers... and that was running 20psi!!

me thinks they thought I was talking about manifold to turbo bolts

oh well gcg 2.50 a pop nasty!

They get noisy and like on I saw the other day that had three bolts missing and the last bolt was loose it had boost problems too.
