Just installed a DVD to the factory screen in my BA. Cost $310 for converter and wiring to ICC unit/switch and AUX cable including all instructions. Supplied my own DVD. Installation was simple. Only 3 wires to connect and a plug straight into the ICC. Didn't even need to remove the ICC. Took me only 30 minutes to install and the picture is fantastic. The DVD took a little longer to install though, finding a place to mount it and adding a auto-switch(system comes with manual switch). If you are looking at getting one make sure you get a DVD player that has NTSC playback though and look for a 12v trigger output for auto-switching. They also do the ICC screen upgrades and facia colour changes. The company is called ASL. You can call them on (03) 9588-2755.

would you be able to use the rca in that the dvd player has for somethin like an xbox, if the xbox was still running pal?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

No, the system is NTSC only, I believe if you have your X-box chipped it will work though. Although they did have a box which would convert anything but it cost about $120 more.

A chipped xbox will not "just work" - You need to change the video output settings on it as well. Some chips let you do this from their own BIOS, others let you run the software to do the change-over. Sure that's as easy as running Enigmah and pressing a button, but you've got to do that :)

All of the above chipping is illegal.

There is a LEGAL changeover to the video region that can be made. I'm testing it now and so far no bugs, but we'll see.
