been riding since I was about 7.. currently riding a Honda CR500. with 2G spent on the motor, its safe to say its a roost machine!!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Mate those things are weapons as they are. Love to know how you hang on to the thing with 2g spent on the motor. Must have fn big forearms.

What's been done to the motor?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

well it was stock for the first 3 months then it decided to smash a piston through the motor, a large chunk of the inlet side went down under the crank and smashed the bottom out the case.

rebuild consisted of, Vertex 92mm piston, Hot-rods rod, Balanced crank. all crank and rod work was performed by SERCO.

bored out the inlet+outlets HEAPS. (1 full dust-pan of shavings to be prescise)

Carbon fibre boyesen reeds,Steel hinson clutch plates, pro circuit exhaust, every single bearing replaced aswell as half the engine casing which came to $580 on its own :spoton:

carb has been fully gone over, bigger jets all round. its safe to say its a weapon for sum mega arm pump. I actually get sore finger-tips from riding it cuz when the power snaps on it pulls your hands off the grips and your left hanging on by your fingertips lol.

put a steering dampner on, I had tag mounts and filled my pro tappers with silicone to reduce the vibes (4-5hrs at up to 180 in the finke is torture on your hands). If u want some real fun put some motard wheels on, mine used to top out at 220-230 ks and u could drag the pegs. I never got beat going up or down the mountains but got toasted on the staights. The sucker would powerstand at 180k's no clutch or compress of the springs. Its fun for a while but u soon get sick of the brutal nature of the beast. In a race power isn't everything, controlable power is so I weighted up the fly wheel aswell. The DG pipe was a mid range pipe so to not kill myself at the top.

In order from the first one 20 years ago.

Honda XL250

Honda XR200 (unreg)

Suzuki RM125 (unreg)

Yamaha XT600

Honda XR250 (unreg)

Suzuki GSX1100 '83 model

Kawasaki GTR1000

The GSX1100 was sold and later bought back. Now the only one I still own 180,000 + kms. I have another two GSX1100 engines that I run in the dragster. 200 hp and good enough for high 9's over the quarter. The're a dinosaur comapared to todays rockets but the basis for a lot of quick drag bikes.

Since I've had the T, the bike doesn't get much use - but might see a trip to the MotoGP this year.

A couple of mods Bugster?

I counted 10 that I could see in the photo, very nice, that Corbin seat looks comfy.

Cheers,

Steve

Cheers Steve, I've put my heart and soul into that bike. It was my only speed outlet for a while - until we bought the T we had a VERY sedate Holden (sorry guys! :gooff: ) Astra. Whilst the Astra was a great little car with pretty high levels of finish, it was hardly an exciting drive. :spoton:

The mods you may not be able to see include a carbon fibre rear hugger, K&N filter and PCIII USB. Currently puts out around 126hp at the wheel (that was more than the Astra produced at the flywheel!! :spoton: ) - not staggering, but enough for my needs. :crybaby:

Ooh, that's a nice ride mate. I test rode the naked version of that before I bought my Z1000. Gotta say I was very tempted, nice bike to ride with plenty of grunt. But at the end of the day I guess I prefer the sound of a screaming four to a thumping twin. Yours must sound pretty awesome with those Yoshis on though! :spoton::crybaby:

post-6905-1124921317_thumb.jpgFinally worked out the upload! (I think :spoton: )

God I love bikes! That's a sweet looking ride you have there choookr, I just love the underseat pipe look (if you couldn't already tell!!). Mate, those new R1's are weapons. I thought my mildly modded Z1000 was a fast bike - the new breed of litre class bikes are just in another category altogether. :crybaby::spoton:
