that's a short runway do they use a high stall converter to take off

In a way 'yes' :spoton: ... A short field take-off consists of extending wing flap, holding down the brakes while applying maximum allowable power to give you a better launch and rolling quicker. It works trust me I did one at Moorabbin for flight traning.

My oldman is a pilot and we were doing a run up (this is were you run the engine at full juice to see if it will fart or carry on before you take off)and one of the brake calipairs clapped out and we started doing donuts for a second.

The other plane he had was a beechcraft baron and he would have to run both engines at full throttle to get a good launch to get off kepple island airstrip. One day it would all most drag the plane alomg with the brakes on.Yeah she was a beast of an airplane.

Gee your father was lucky there wasnt any other plans in the run-up bay when the brake calipairs failed  Has he still got the Baron?

Sold baron for a Cessna 210 turbo.Just as fast if not faster than the baron at altitude but alot more practical.(only one motor to fuel)

Still cant beat the sound of the baron. She had heaps of NA grunt and the feeling you get when you give it to her on take off and feel the engines torqe as they are building revs. Its awesome.

Yeah, I remember I was on one of our Barons which the Royal Australian Navy hired for radar trial's on the new Anzac class ships in the bay. Geez we chucked that thing around like an F/18

The Cessna 210 has got a great note to them, my flying school has one.
