So you say HgAg wont be around for the BF FPVs?

Damn, I'ts gonna be a long wait for the SydMoSho now.

I've got to see this Fantasy colour in the flesh - Deep metallic purple come blue sounds great. Imagine THAT with a pro quality polishing job.

This wait is killing me. Ford release the "standard" BF info, leaving us to only imagine what FPV are gonna come up with.

Well played FPV, you've got me by the balls.

Bastards.

Word is HgAg will be gone before my build date in January, just when it ceases I'm not sure.

An October or November delivery may still just make it, if they are lucky?

Interesting. I'd had my heart set on HgAg for a while, but I'm going to have see this Fantasy thing. I was a big fan of Phantom way back when, and was devastated when it was dropped for MkII.

Well done on the GT-P order by the way.

A :stirthepot: for ChromaFlair paint (ie Fantasy) got me this:

ChromaFlair is the registered trademark for a paint system, created by DuPont, which appears to change colour depending on the light source and viewing angle.

The system (and competing versions made by other companies) are known by a vast variety of proprietary names, including Chameleon Colors, ChromaLusion, ChromaPremier, ColourShift, Exclusive Line, Extreme Colors, Harlequin Color, IllusionColor, Kameleon Kolors, Maziora, MultiTones, MystiChrome and Paradis Spectrashine.

The effect is achieved by interfering with the reflection and refraction of light from the painted object's surface. The paint contains tiny synthetic flakes about one micrometre thick. The flakes are constructed of aluminium coated with glass-like magnesium fluoride embedded in semi-translucent chrome. The aluminium and chrome gives the paint a vibrant metallic sparkle, while the glass-like coating acts like a refracting prism, changing the apparent colour of the surface as the observer moves around. Interestingly, ChromaFlair paints contain no actual pigments: the colour we observe is created entirely by the refractive properties of the flakes (analogous to how we perceive rainbow colours in oil slicks).

The ChromaFlair system is now available in thousands of different colour variations. It is usually applied to items whose visual appeal is considered important — such as motor vehicles, electric guitars and computer case mods.

Saw a Expensive Daewoo ute outside Shacks Expensive Daewoo in Rockingham today with the purple/blue paint, looked bloody horrible, sorry but even EID (who's colour tastes run into the Al Grazby on LSD end of the spectrum) reckons it looked :tease:

As I said on another thread, will go down well with the ricie brigade.:spoton:

And as to the demise of HgAg.........sad, very sad.

It certainly poses a prob for me come buy-a-BF-F6-time. I mean, sure theres a few HgAg BAs around, but I really liked the colour. Getting an HgAg F6 was a given. Going to have to get a look at Fords take on the Purple/Blue. I quite liked phantom for example. Can Fords version be that bad? With ChromaFlair etc there can be thousands of variation in colour, as theres no actual pigment in the paint.

Heaven forbid I should join the Rice brigade...

Most dealers have some info on BF GT range. Some of the info that has been released is the cause of not much being said publically from people in the know.

An example might be, no one thought Brembos would be made standard on GT which led to an assumption about a new brake package. That’s a 6k brake system reduced back to chicken feed but represents a huge commitment to budget performance by FPV. The GT still has to get in at around Clubbie money so it’s pretty big news by itself. 19 inch wheels standard on GT. Just those two items add up.

Now I could tell a little story about a boy a bottle and a TC system but I might save that one. Let’s just say the GT-P gets new brakes.

On the engine front what has happened to the base cars was rumoured to be across the range with a significant emphasis on torque. The XR8 doesn't look like it is moving hence some assumption might have been wrong about FPV. The fact that FPV are still referring to it as BOSS 290 isn't by itself significant at this stage.

There has been suspension work, details of which will be released at the official launch and that could contain a surprise given the introduction of the Ultimate Brembo package on GT-P. There might be an interior innovation.

There is a new front and rear as has been mentioned. Fantasy is a Nov build start for those looking at this colour.

Stripes? yes a new design is on the way.

Any news of F6 changes? An "Ultimate F6" equivalent to the GT-P perhaps?

And what about this "Ego" colour, that's supposed to be like the old Gunmetal. Anyone?

Gimme gimme gimme :stirthepot:
