Anyone know, or do we have to wait until the Sydney Motor show?

It seems that while the XR6T and the standard I6 and V8 are getting more power, nothing else is.

Considering that I'm after a manual anyway (with the auto box being the BF big-ticket item), should I really wait for the BF to come out, and miss a good BA deal?

I really like the new engine improvements, but... :idunno:

More info FPV !!!

Wait till the Motor show..

You will get a better BA deal once BF is on the floors.

If you can its worth waiting..

the release of the BF will be a good bargaining leverage on a BA

the smart man would say that there should be power upgrades to match the ls2 at least but the betting man would say probably not because more power may ruin the total performance of the car :spoton:

No one who knows will tell you, l only have snippets and teasers to go from but l am expecting engine improvements to the Boss motors. These will result in a big torque increase but little in kw, hence keeping the road *beep* at bay and improving the cars driveability. To do this l am guessing the Boss motor will gain VCT.

l am very hungry for a BF GT-P so am keenly sniffing for info too :spoton:

Maybe they will keep them at the same KW output, but this does not mean that they will not produce more torque. The addition of dual VCT has give all the engines in the BF lineup a lot more pulling power down low and the peak KW output has gone up in the rev range! Meaning the engines will pull harder for longer! FPV would be stupid to leave the power as it is considering HSV have the LS2 to play with now.

Imagine a GT with 6 speed auto and say 560Nm at 2500rpm and 290Kw at 5800rpm! :glad:

Just take a look at what dual VCT has done to the 3V base V8. In the BA it makes 220kw at 4750rpm and 470Nm at 3250rpm, cutout was at something stupid like 4900rpm!! This same engine now makes 230kw at 5350rpm and 500Nm at 3500rpm, they do not mention the cutout but with the peak power at 5350rpm the cutout would be no lower then 5500rpm!

Damn I wish fuel was cheaper because a BF XT 5.4 litre V8 would make an awesome sleeper!

.............my 2 cents

I notice FPV have'nt posted any news about the BF, there's a new (well sorta) Falcon in town but not at FPV?

Be a while yet before FPV drop their guts, we may even have to wait until the SMS in October :censored:

Why do people think the Boss motors will get VCT. They won't. The cylinder heads are straight from Ford US, and until they decide to give them VCT then FPV won't get it. The heads, cams, front cover etc would all need to be redesigned to fit VCT phasers on the ends of the cams. The 3V V8 gets VCT because we get them straight from the US in crates, same basic engine as in the F series trucks.

The FPV range will be released at the Sydney Motor Show. The Cars Guide said the FPV's will have a more dramatic styling change than the rest of the range.
