The close ratio 6 speed auto will be a $1500-$1800 option for the T. Nice

raptorthumper Member 12 Member For: 20y 4m 3d Posted 16/08/05 10:55 PM Share Posted 16/08/05 10:55 PM I'm very pleased to say the least that the 6 speed auto's made it in to most models. There's one more item of information that I am keen to find out and that is the final drive ratio, used on the auto's. I hope Ford don't use too higher gearing (low numerical value) in the bloody stupid quest for fuel economy only. I like performance and that means low gearing. 1st Gear in the ZF is about 4.12:1, but if Ford opt for something silly, like a 2.5:1 final drive then all the performance benefits of the close ratio 6 speed auto are lost.Ahh well, I suppose, it will be pretty easy to swap to a lower diff gearset from the manual models, if they have. What do these new tail lamps look like? Without knowing much about it, it does sound (at this stage) like the changes are fairly minor?
