Bf Falcon

The big question that should be asked is how much grunt can the ZF handle before it goes bang. Its rated at 600nm, how much further can it go past this and for how long, and if it does goes bang how much is a rebuild. I'd say it would probably be at least 4-5K. Can they be modified to handle more power, or would you have to buy the 775nm version available in the V12 BMW's, and could you get one for less than 10k. I'm waiting to see what the answer will be as I have the choice between a BF GT or F6. If the F6 can't handle more than 600nm you're pretty much limited to an edit and that's it. I would at least like to have have edit, injectors and exhaust. An edit, exhaust, CAI, underdrive pullies etc on a GT would keep it under the 600nm torque rating and ensure the trans would live a long life.

The V10 M5 has a seven speed SMG box, not sure what type the M3 is but as its a sequential manual gearbox I'd assume its not a ZF.

Not much more than the 520nm the GT makes. Remember it had to be upgraded to handle the torque of the Boss so I'd say its torque limit would be around that. Torque reduction is bad on auto models because of this.

Also the torque rating is over the life of the transmission, something like 200,000kms. You can go over the torque rating but the further you go the shorter it will last.

Yeah its a big call but stock Vs stock a BF should easily take a stock BA.

It's a big call cause my car isn't stock. You seem to know more than most about the BF, but all I can say is don't expect too much. because you'll be mildly dissapointed.

On BF aesthetics, here's some more descriptive words I found (they're a bit old and some of it has already been mentioned in bits an pieces elsewhere). But what I find intriguing is that it confirms there are 2 types of alloys for the XR6T and XR8.

Colors

Menace – a bold purple with an intense blue highlight, this daring metallic hue is sure to excite the sports enthusiast. Menace is only available on Falcon XR and FPV models.

Kashmir – a luxurious mid-tone European grey with golden undertones that radiates timeless elegance. Kashmir is not for the XR range, but it's mentioned here to note that.

Toxic – beyond citrus, this new acidic yellow green is sure to turn heads. Toxic is only available on Falcon XR and FPV models.

Bionic – an explosive and exciting new blue full of energy and life. Bionic is only available on Falcon XR and FPV models.

Wired – a warm, copper metallic, rich with warmth and sophistication. Wired is not for the XR range, but once again mentioned here to highlight that.

Déjà Vu – a classic, dark emerald green full of depth. Déjà Vu is available on all Falcon passenger models, including Falcon XR and FPV, as well as Falcon Ute, Fairlane, LTD and Territory models.

Fantasy – a vivid chameleon colour full of power, with high chromaticity and dramatic effects, which constantly changes its personality from royal purples to an amazing new blue. Fantasy is only available on Falcon XR and FPV models.

Set to become an iconic colour, the release of Fantasy marks the first use of revolutionary ChromaFlair paint technology in volume production within Australia.

Unlike the special-effect pigments of the early 1980s, which showed a subtle shift in shade, these next-generation colour-shifting pigments take on a completely different hue depending on the angle of view or light source projected upon them.

New Key

The new, latest generation key design offers a greater range of security code combinations for improved vehicle security, while eliminating the complexity of multiple keys for ignition and glovebox locks.

A common key, featuring a two-wave external track key design, now provides access to all external and internal vehicle locks – ignition, door and glovebox locks on Falcon-based models and ignition, door and under-seat storage box locks on Territory. (Damn, I was hoping it was going to be one of those fancy folding ones...)
