Rob...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

most of you said that about the Mk2 rims, now you all like them...

give them a chance and wait till you see them in the flesh, then cast your judgements...

Dave.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Hope FPV can give us a few nice little suprises.

I am thinking that maybe, just maybe, Ford has increased performance and handling by dropping the 5.4L Alloy block available from the US straight into the Boss engined babies??? please please please

Sorry mate, l disagree.

A 6 spd ZF auto is not a minor change nor is indepndant VCT. A 6spd auto is not something normally associated with our local volume sellers and l reckon the new engine is going to be very torquey.

Credit to Ford, instead of doing a Expensive Daewoo and giving the car a new look and leaving the mechanicals unchaged they have done the opposite and all buyers will benefit. There is only so much money in the kitty come refresh time.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

But between the mark I and the mark II they changed from a 5 speed to a 6 speed manual??? I agree they are doing changes but I don't think they are enough to warrent a change of lettering...

But I do agree, at least they are worrying about making the internals better rather than doing a Expensive Daewoo and putting new exterior on the same old internals...

It's just I'd have like some more cosmetic changes for the next model rather than a few changes on the inside...

And what all you guys have been waiting for....

"Ford counts the addition of dual independent

variable camshaft timing and dual knock sensors

as the biggest change to the 4.0-litre six

The dual independent VCT is claimed to

deliver better low-speed torque, while the six

also now has a lower idle speed of 550rpm (down

from 700rpm)."

But doesn't my MkII already have dual VCT - I am sure!

dual nock sensors...?

It always idles at 550rpm already: When stock and now at Phase II!

Anyone else?

EDIT: No idea where Team Anti-Hoff cam from, but it's always been there - lol . So maybe here's an attachment one of you anti-hoff guys might like. :sleepystuff:

I think the changes from the BA to the BF are just BS. Dont we associate desigantion changes with more then just cosmetics. Granted the new 6 speed sounds senstational but if you cant see it then who gives a sh*te. Anyway I'll have a BF with the BA Mk II rims cause the BF ones look boring.

I think the BA cams are variable, but not independently so. What ever they advance or retard, they do it in unison. The Typhoon, for example, has individual control over each cam.

I think :spoton:

Visually the only changes I can see are either insignificant or in the case of the rims and front bar a backwards step.

Obviously the 6 speed and extra torque are major positives.

Most importantly will we be able to use the capa box on them?

New Tail lights as requested!

I think ill be buying a set of these, about the only good exterior change so far.  :glad:

They look the same to me :msm:

:pinch: me too ?????????????

I think the new ones have a clear looking lense over the tail/brake light

The red lens looks more pink on the BF

I reckon that's just the light....

Could be. I am old and blind :glad:

I agree. I can't recollect ANY other model change EVER in the history of Falcons in Australia that had such small cosmetic changes. Even the EF/EL got different grills, headlights and bumpers. It is a BA MkIII not a new model!! What BS Ford!! Wake up!!

Can't wait for the CA to get here so we can just forget this and put it behind us.
