Why do people think BA resale values will be ok because the BF doesn't look too different. Resale values will drop a lot, and they are already pretty poor to begin with as the second hand market is flooded. There are more changes under the skin than has been announced, full details won't be available until Sydney Motor Show.

The Turbo will go up to 245kw and 480Nm, which is a nice jump in torque! The close ratio 6 speed auto will be a $1500-$1800 option for the T.

Nice :spoton:

I think it's just a ford spec change. No actualy increase in power/torque. Let them play their number games with Holden.

Ford Thinking Unveiled

Today sees the unveiling of a new generation of Ford vehicles. Due for release at the end of October, the new range includes updates to Falcon, Territory, Falcon Ute and Fairlane and LTD models. Importantly, the changes to the new BF Falcon and SY Territory range of vehicles will ensure these Ford products remain at the technological forefront of Australian-made vehicles.

Smart Engine Technology

Ford's most technologically advanced six-cylinder petrol engine ever has now just been made better for the new BF Falcon and SY Territory range of vehicles. From the moment you turn the key, you will notice the improved refinement. Press the accelerator and feel the extra power and torque and all this with significant fuel economy improvements each time you fill up the tank.

"It's now a smarter design in every key area - technology, performance, refinement, fuel economy and emissions."

Trevor Worthington, Vice President Product Development, Ford Australia.

World-Class Six Speed Transmission

From October a world-class, premium six-speed automatic transmission will be available on Falcon and Territory vehicles*. This is one of Germany's finest transmissions which we have engineered to suit our vehicles.

As the first Australian-manufactured vehicles with the availability of a six-speed automatic transmission, BF Falcon, SY Territory, BF Falcon Ute and Fairlane and LTD remain at the forefront of engineering innovation, delivering best-in-class transmission technology to Australian drivers. Refinement, breathtaking performance, improved fuel economy and advanced customer features are hallmarks of this highly intelligent six-speed automatic transmission.

*Optional on XR6 Sedan, XR6 Turbo and XR8. Standard on Fairmont Ghia, Fairlane Ghia, LTD, Fairlane G8, Territory AWD models and when 3V V8 is optioned on Falcon Sedan.

Damn I didnt know that the BF T will make 480Nm at only 2000rpm!!! At what rpm does the BA T make max torque?

With the ratios in the new 6 speed auto this thing is going to be a tyre fryer of the line! :spoton:

All I wanted to do last week was go into the dealer and order a new Tornado in Automatic as I do alott of city peak hour driveing and no one could give me a actual date or anything. The reply from FPV was P-ss P--r and expect abit more from them actually.I really do not want a generic reply

The new T has 480Nm so it will handle it no worries.Hell my Auto has lasted 120K with the APS 2 kit fitted unmodified so no worries for this new one.

Looked at a new Super Pursuit but I dont think it could match a modified stealth 6T but.

Fpv’s F6 Gets More Six Appeal

Ford Performance Vehicles has today confirmed it will wide its choice to customers with an optional six-speed automatic transmission available for the first time on the turbo-charged F6 Typhoon and F6 Tornado with the introduction of the new-look BF FPV range in October.

FPV will be the first Australian high-performance manufacturer to offer a six-speed automatic transmission. The state-of-the-art new ZF 6HP26 gearbox, which features multiple driving modes and a number of innovative driving and safety features, will be available as an option on all FPV models: the quad cam Boss 290 V8-powered GT, GT-P, Pursuit and Super Pursuit and the F6 Typhoon and F6 Tornado with the turbo-charged and intercooled F6 270 Turbo engine.

As was the case with the re-engineering of the Tremec T56 six-speed manual, the ZF six-speed automatic transmission has been tailored to suit the unique driving conditions and customer demands of the Australian high-performance vehicle market.

“The introduction of a world-class six-speed automatic specifically suited to our conditions continues to build on our credentials as creating high-performance vehicles using the very latest, class-leading technology,” said David Flint, Managing Director of Ford Performance Vehicles.

“I am positive this will be an outstanding success.”

Ford Performance Vehicles will release full details of its BF range at the Sydney Motor Show on October 13.

l agree, resale is poor as it is, these BF changes are very worthwhile and are not going to do the BA any favours.

The market release of the Falcon is to be at an upcoming BIG event,

I think this is where and when all will be revealed. Just before it goes on sale
