I just went through my old test track where I know how fast I could take corners (don't worry, all under the speed limit). Even though I could take them at the same speed, I had a fair bit of understeer, and damn are they noisy....

I haven't pushed them this hard since I've got them, and am not happy anymore...

I hope they are damn good in the wet to compensate, otherwise it's $680 (2 tyres) down the drain

Gee that sounds disappointing after spending that amount of money. Suprising that the Pirelli isn't better. Hope your experience in the wet is at least a good one.

Do you still say they are quieter than the Dunlop SP3000A? Are you still planning to buy them for the rear?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

They are quieter than the SP3000A's, but no dunlops will be going on my car anymore. Not after having 6 of them split right across the top of the tread.

I'll see how the Pirelli's go in real wet conditions before I make my descision about putting them on the rear.

So far in light rain conditions they seem to be good. I flicked the steering wheel a few times at about 60k and they just stuck and turned which is a good sign :)

Does it really matter? We fry em so f*cking quick any way... Well us younger hoons do!

Sorry to any old farts who love fuel economy over fun :)

A few full stops next time won't go astray.. Took me a hundred re reads to get what you were on about...

Cro, are you sure these tyres were under performing through your 'test track'?

I get the feeling that maybe the conditions had more to do with it than the tyres because I've heard quite alot of tyre tests that rate them, especially mid corner grip (higher corner speeds)... This is where I've heard the Zero Nero's excel...

So don't write their dry grip off just yet, it could have more to do with either suspension setup or the conditions on the day, rather than overall grip...

Be about the same conditions, temp, wind, etc..

Either way I can take it around there and get the same cornering speed at any time.

I'm not a fan of them in the dry, the wet however I think we are onto a winner. Will find out soon enough :)
