Well was just reading the latest motor mag and some better times for the fords. The GT they got 0-100 in 5.9 seconds, and the typhoon got 0-100 in 5.7. This is better than the last times I read, but unfortantly the LS2 clubby got 0-100 in 5.2.

little sick of hearing about motor magazine, as they always seem to find the holdens faster, where wheels tends to find the fords faster. To have any credability, the drivers need to be racing car drivers, ie someone like John Bowe testing the ford's and say Mark skaife in the holden's. Atleast then the times achieved would have some credibility as a representative of the cars performance. There's no way known a Expensive Daewoo clubsport is that much quicker than a GT. Could believe 2 - 4 tenths, but the times listed are a joke! Anyone else noticed this, or am I being paranoid (I get the feeling that the tester's are far more familiar with Late model camira v8's than the rest of the australian performance cars). My 2 cents..

The Holden's have always flogged the Ford's around the track. But on the other hand the Ford's are a better everyday road car and aren't anywhere near as hard on the rubber as the Holden's. If I owned a Clubsport I would be more worried about the SS giving me a flogging than the GT.

Does a faster 0-100 time make the Clubsport a better car than a GT or Typhoon? :spoton: A fairly narrow criterion from which to draw a conclusion.I'd like to see the Fords get to 100 kph faster than the Holdens but even though they don't I still think the Fords are an inherently better car in every aspect.

This is a loose quote( from memory :spoton: ) from a recent Phoon V Clubbie article in Motor.

In the closing paragraph " HSV ( Holden) picked a fight it thought it could win. It didn't. The Phoon wins. Long may it reign" hardly a bagging :spoton:

Edit . Quote is not exact but damn close. Clubbie 0.2sec quicker over 400m and taking fast 2nd gear corneres faster, otherwise owned by the Phoon as an allrounder

Didn't Rick Bates give his 2c (and 2 thumbs down) as part of the BFYB article?

Guys, don't forget that this was a BANG FOR YOUR BUCK article, where they only measure the car's BANG (straight line and corner speeds) for your BUCK (dollar) so yeah, the FPV may be a better overall package, but in this particular test, obviously it didn't have enough bang.
