As for my XR... well I have a new gearbox, new radiator and still need a new diff, rotors replaced, ICC problems and some camber issues that just can't be fixed without inserting extra bits of metal. My mates VL has had some dicky electronics with his windows and some body rust... but that's it!! Still going strong after 20 years! I wonder what my XR will be like in 18 years time... Unfortuntely the Japs still have the best quality control in the world - better than anything anybody else seems to pump out, including Germany.I had a 92 XR8 Falcon until recently - 13 years old - and that was a fantastic car. 250,000 k and still going strong. So... yes maybe you have had some issues, but there are mistakes in all cars, and lots of good ones in all makes as well.I for one think the VL Late model camira is ugly, and has a tacky interior. It doesnt look modern, or like a classic. But... each to their own.

I see plenty of sh*tty looking commos but most of the calais' that I have seen are in pretty straight condition. The tranny I'm pretty sure is the same as the VL in the autos at least. Open diff though *yuk*The point is, there shouldn't be mistakes in all cars, shouldn't be in any cars but for a car that is 20 yrs old I'm pretty impressed. And I am NOT a fan of commodores at all... The majority of these should be worked out in the warranty period but only time will tell!Chooka
