I refer to an article in the SA cars guide on the new Bio Premium unleaded (98ron) "Our Bio premium 98 is a better product, on a dyno test our 98 ron petrol exceeds BP ultimate and Mobil synergy 8000 on torque and horsepower".

It contains 10% bioethenol- made from wheat waste, and retails for 1.12/L.

Any thoughts on using this fuel and could it potentially cause any problems?

I think  I may have filled up with that last night. I was at a United and saw 98ron only 2cents over the std unleaded. I thought I was on a winner there.

Thinking about it, now not so sure although the car feels just as strong.

They also had a 94 ron that was 5 cents under normal unleaded.

Anybody know more about what this fuel is like.

Sounds good, I'd be cautious of the hydroscopic properties of ethanol though...might cause corrosion in the fuel system.

Ehtanol is best mixed with a bit of ice and drunk chilled.

Excuse my ignorance, I have never heard of the stuff, is it an Adelaide thing?

Maybe??? There is no Optimax available in S.A because it's Benzene content is higher than the States prescribed limits. Perhaps this is their answer? :spoton:

Lumpy :spoton:
