Coming To Australia

this is a good subject actually, australias whole anti-racism/politily correctness has given white people the sharp end of the stick imo, I am far from racist so dont get me wrong but like this really gets under my skin. A good example of this was when I was still in school, now im a white australian, during highschool every year there would be camps....there would be thing like leadership camps and such that everyone could attend....then there was the whole "Hey we dont wont to give off the wrong impression about being racist so lets give every nationality other than the australians a day and/or camp". Having alot of filo friends they would have their filo days, camps and even MEETINGS!!!! and here I was getting stuck in class (as a kid at school this was the last place I wanted to be). I could rant on and on about how things like that me off, fair enough they are proud of their culture but ffs so am I, if I am to offend someone by putting up xmas lights than so be it, you dont hear me whinging about when I see a manora (spelling) sitting in a jewish of faiths window or about the veil arabian women wear, if this made any sense at all (probably not) it should show that by avoiding backlash from other religions/ethnic groups they have taken away many things we could do or say, bloody ridiculous

Point 1 - this is an english speaking country

Define Australian: The aborigines occupied this vast Island first - and they did not originate here.

White man (simply an expression) - all of us have a heritage that dates back to another country and culture.

Australian to me is a way of life and a lifestyle that has been cultivated from a variety of Nationalities.

Religion - you believe in whatever is your thing - however I prefer it not be solicited to me in an attempt to sway my personal beliefs.

non acceptance of others religious beliefs is the basis for most wars.

Racism is on the grow in this here land - what happened to love thy neighbour and acceptance of differences.

Pauline Hanson - allbeit somewhat unorthodox did stir up important issues for Australians which other politicians have capitlized on since.

The licence issue - same as in Banks where you must remove your helmet - its a security and identification necessity, Terrorism and crime is Real.

Could not agree more. Everyone is welcome, but they must adpat to our culture, that is what makes Australia a desired place of destination. I believe if you threaten that through terrorism or the like, you loose your privilage to stay.

For those like myself who have spent time overseas, I know first hand being an Australian you must adpat to their culture, otherwise you are segregated for not adpating to their society. I have experienced it and alot of other countries with different cultures have no tolerance to people coming to their country and no adapting to their culture. Why should it be any different here?

Everyone is welcome to share our country and way of life, but must respect why this way of life exists....
