From my understanding(which isn't all that great!!! ), the turbo doesn't back spin. It just surges(air comes back out the wrong way for a split second) a few times, making the flutter noise. (you should watch a 747 engine do this! Pretty impressive! )

It would slow turbo rpm. But not back spin it. In a manual this may affect performance through more lag between gears, but an auto the difference would be negligable, if not non-existant.

I think the high pitched 'squeek' you seek is the Blitz Super sequential BOV.

Better to find someone with one and ask 'em what they have..

XR6T comes with bov standard, and with slightly raised boost, they 'flutter' or 'gobble' quite loudly.

I'm running stock boost with a BMC filter and mine gobbles like a turkey all the time over 3500rpm.

So does mine! Mines manual. Flutters from anywhere above 2 grand so soon as it spools and you pull off the throttle.
