Simple answer, they ARE ILLEAGAL , they DO BLIND OTHER DRIVERS.. If you have them on when there is no fog you do deserve to be booked. For more information look to the Road Traffic and Safety management Act of 1999, else the road regulations as amended. I personally would book every one if I had the time because they affect my night driving as the light although not brighter is emitted in a different way as is the high beam. Unfortunatly they reduced the fine I think it should me worth more and demerit points. My automatic reaction to Fog Lights is to turn on my high beam. Cro knows how I feel on the matter.

So would I be correct in assuming that you drive around with your foggies on all the time?

One point to note though, given that this thread was instigated by a QLDer, there is no mention of fog lights being illegal in QLD – you can be fined if your lights are dazzling to oncoming traffic but this is very loose legislation when it comes back to personal perception.

The thing is though is that there are so many vehicles on the roads these days with incorrectly aligned lights though that you’d be hard pushed to notice the odd driver with their foglights on.

If you use 'em fine but;

1 Don't come crying in here when you get booked.

2 We don't care if you think the law is wrong, I happen to think I should be allowed to smash your foggies with a brick if you drive past me with 'em on, that's illegal too, but you don't here me sooking about it.

3 Your driving an XR6T , not a "LOOK AT MOI, LOOK AT MOI!" ricer. If you want to drive around with foggies on, go get a crummydore or a 200sx.

4 It's safer to drive around with your mains on low beam AKA volvo, do that instead.
