You'll find that replacing the cat and/or dump pipe will require you to replace injectors and intercooler as well for everything to function smoothly, and without placing a strain on anything.

One of Nizpro's customers fitted a smb pipe and cat a re tune and went from 249rwkw's to 289 rwkws on 98 pulp. On good fuel still with the std intercooler they made 317rwkw's. Then by replacing one of the most restrictive intercooler hose's they made 327rwkw's, all still with the standard intercooler.

$200 for cat installation and adaption to the factory exhaust system? Damn that's expensive considering I got my SMB 4" dump pipe and 4" cat installation for $308 inc GST.

what r u on about? .. youve lost me.. In one sentence you say its expensive @ 200 to have the dump pipe and cat installed and then say you payed 308 for the same thing............ wtf?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Misread your post. I thought you said $200 for cat installation only. My mistake.

327rwkw with the stock intercooler? That would have to be a new record, right?

Damn, guess I wasted $990 on the one that I have then.

Before claiming that it would be good to see it done on an independant dyno.

I dont think so jas, I think the intercooler you have is a nice little step up from the original. Yours makes good power for a relativly low boost engine.

You wouldn't say that if it was APS.

Keep in mind that it was on race fuel. 289rwkw's on 98PULP.

There are clear advantages to changing the intercooler. If they did that I'm sure it would make even more power.

Now back to the exhaust info...

ok after many weeks of searching around today my new cat came in the mail.

besides the SMB and "Magic-cat" I think this cat is the much better option to adapt to a STOCK T exhaust or even to a modded exhaust!!

3.5' ends and flows heaps more CFM then all the other alternatives!!

its a "Metal-Cat" imported from the states, I sourced it from nissan silvia forums and the mob that sells them are "option 1 garage" in brisbane.

it was $300 to my door and I must say, this thing is HUGE!!!!

It looks like an extended pipe version of the Magic performance one.

You will need to get your edit re tuned after its installed.

looks the goods though!
