hey

Dropped my Turbo off today for some warranty work. One of the problems that I was having with the car was a "creeking" noise in the front end. One of the ford " trained tecnitions" advised me that this was not a warrany thing but in fact was a maintenance thing and of course they would charge me to fix it. Wouldnt you think that a car that has 18,000 on the clock would not have this problem and if a such problem did exist that they would fix it...

What are your thoughts??

Total BS!!!!

A lot of blokes have had heat shield rattles fixed under warranty (including myself) and I've also had a dodgy engine mount fixed under warranty.

Try another dealer.

I have the same problem and will be taking it in to get fixed soon. I thought it was something to do with the shimming of the steering rack.

Let me know how you go. Is it Dominelli's that you took it to? that's where I take mine so I hope I don't encounter the same problem! If they try to make me pay for anything I'll tell them where to jam it!

goobz your correct about the shimming. they install some washers somewhere I think. mine made the noise when I drove out of the dealer on day 1. it was fixed the week after.

revheadrobbo, take it somewhere else, its a very common fault.

Should look at tightening crossmember bolts, low speed turns like parking <bump, creak>.

Non warranty - what a load of. :k24t:

Yeah they reckon they need to retension some bolts in the front end and give her a lube. Of course I suspected they were taking me for a ride so I told them no

For all those Sutho people it was Domineli so if you still want to take it there note down your kms. I had a brake shudder problem also and it appeared thay they gave the car a flogging. When I dropped it off the car was well over 3/4 full of fuel. when I got it back I found it well under the 3/4 fill mark and there was a :stirthepot: load of brake dust on the rims. Kinda spewing I didnt note down the k's.

that's crap, I take the ute to pedders before every service just for a check up and they assure me nothing should go wrong with suspension for along time.
