I think Dean Canto in th HPDC BA is looking pretty good, his fastest time on the weekend was 7th of all the V8 Supercars.

It'd be good to see them bring on a real talent, not little rich boys racing on mummy & daddies $$$$$$ like over half the field

I was originally thinking he was the favourite but when they intervied him on RPM the other week he said he still has a contract with Perkins and/or Expensive Daewoo for another two years.

SBR seem to like bringing new talent in, Ambrose was an unknown when he first joined.

as jsracin said, dean canto's been living off his dads smash repair business's money all his life.

would be interesting to see james courtney racing, seeing how he would adapt to v8 supercar after driving those ground-force super aerodynamic JGTC cars in japan.

I'd say Ford would still be keen to lower the Expensive Daewoo teams driver quality and build up the Ford teams which has been their policy for a couple of years. Lowndes, Ingal, Bugsbunny, Bright to name a few.

My money is on McConville.

some of my reasons for thinking this are

He young and has a go

would be fast in a more competitive car like SBR

Had a few years experience now

He's going know where at Garry Rodges motorsport.

one less talented Expensive Daewoo driver to worry about

I think Steve Johnson would be a step backwards compared to this driver. GR motorsport is even less competitive than DJR
