yeah mine is manual. in the wet if I give it too much sh*t I get axle tramp, but if I ease off the accelerator a bit it lessens and slides better. in the dry I haven't had any problems yet.

hmm I'd love cheaper rubber on the front but my brakes won't allow it. I can't even fit 15's on the back got to be 16's or bigger. god I hope 16's fit. I'll just try take it easy on the braking.

cool liegh are you a member or just joining for the day?

ohh and xr06, danny with the red turbo will be there with stock brakes etc, you can push your car as hard or as soft as you like. you don't have to hammer the brakes.

Yeah I am a member of the FPVTickford Owners Club, I just don't get to many of their events. I am mostly interested in their track days etc.

Hey Mal,

From memory, I believe that the AHG day is on Sunday 25th Sept and costs $80 for members ($85 for you and other non members) This should be paid prior to the day to secure your place. If you want, I can get a phone number for you to contact. You also need a CAMS license (level 2S I think from memory), not sure how your competition license relates. If needed, you can pay for a day license ($20) but this can be determined on the day.

I will try to remember to get more info tonight.

Konis are great. Had them on 2 of my cars. Also their standard on the AU T series and also the GT's I think. Old man has them on his 2002 mustang now and he rates them highly. Id always go konis after my experiences with them.

Hi Leigh,

Thanks for the info, its sounds like a great fun day. Any phone contacts would be greatly appreciated. I believe the AASA licence is equivalent to the CAMS 2S licence. Kind of depends on the event documentation and organisation as to what they actually accept.. fingers crossed! Its always best to get the documentation done before the day if that's at all possible..

Yep,

Ive had Koni's and also Bilstein's. Find that the competition Koni's and excellent and even more expensive than the Bilsteins. Street Koni's seem a little weird in their rebound characteristics, initally too soft/under damped, and then when adjusted up, too hard, even allowing the wheel to skip off the road by restricting rebound to that extent. The Bilsteins seem more predictable and IMHO even though they can seem a little firm initally, allow you to build your confidence and remain consistent. Last a long time too. Simply send for a rebuild/revalve to your specs when they go a bit soft. Used them for State Rally Championship rounds and even though they were the cheapest option (apart from totally cheap K-Mart shocks..) they worked well and were eminently repairable. Remember that Koni shocks had the adjustability element simply to compensate for wear, allowing a longer service life. MJK

Sorry guys, just correcting my last post. I checked out the info last night and the AHG driving day is actually being held on Monday 26th September (Public Holiday). You will need to be there by 8:15am and bring Helmet, long sleeve top, jeans, closed shoes etc. For those of you that don't know, the AHG track is at 46 Grogan Rd, Perth International Airport.

I spoke to Andrew (the club Pres) last weekend and he said that there were still 10 places left. Ideally, to ensure your place you will need to pay prior to the day. If you are willing to risk it, you can just rock up on the day and hope that there is a place left. If you want to call Andrew, his number is 9314 2002.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Leigh,

I will give Andrew a call and make sure all is well for the day. Not sure which car to run, 302 Capri gearbox making a few strange noises ( What can u expect for a

$400 Quokka special) and LSD has gone to heaven since last autokhana. May have to break in the T.. Got new headlights under warranty (leaking water) and waiting for the money tree to revive before PBR Performance Brake kit gets a fitment and then a hammering.. Be good, or at least be careful!!
