Gearbox needs to be upgraded with PH2 power level (imho)

You're finding out the hard way.

Even if Ford fix the problem you have now, it will NOT last with the torque increase you get when increasing boost (with Ph2 and above)....

Increasing the ability for the oil to get away from the clutch surfaces and increasing the line pressure is paramount.

At the very least, the clutch plates on the 2-3 (and 3-4) shift need to be upgraded to the serrated style as used on the 1-2 shift.

Whilst its apart, Kevlar bands to replace the originals is a good idea.

There is also a need to increase the pressure so that bands and clutch packs are forced onto their respective components harder, to minimise potential to slip. There's a few other tricks that a good tranny tech can do, re blueprint all clearances of clutch packs, oil pump and end floats of all moving components.

Oh, and if you haven't got an additional tranny cooler, it should have been done before you installed Ph2! Get one, and make sure its located where it gets good clean cool air flow.

I mounted a Maxiflow cooler across the front of the radiator in the top grille opening. I also installed a 2800 high stall converter, but to be honest, the stock converter gets off the line and boogies better for everyday driving. My converter needs to be brake stalled to be effective. Good at the track, but just feels sluggish under WOT standing starts without brake stalling.

To give you an idea of costs..... And it will vary on what you have done, but I spent $2400 for all my mods... trans, cooler and converter.

cheers

Sounds like she's on the way out mate. Been there and done that 3 times and all replaced under warranty. :crybaby:

take turbotom's advise and get it upgraded.

If your in Melbourne Preston Auto's do all of the above for about $1000 or less depending on what your power level is and what you want done.

As far as I have heard. Everyone that has hed them done there are very happy customers. :spit:
