However, whilst it was in I got a loan of a Typhoon. I was expecting a very agricultural drive-line (my T is an auto) but it was excellent! - No whine, no clunks and felt very, very good. This did restore my faith in Ford or at least until I noticed my new vibration :rokon:

Wow - you were actually given a typhoon to drive around in - gotta be happy with that. All I have managed is a stock BA and a fiesta - BLOODY CRIMINAL :msm: But I spose that's what you get for being up north....

.. What reccomendations could you make in regards to clutches and diffs if I do decide to repair it with non-genuine and how much cost would be involved??

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

We can supply suitable clutches, but look at the problem first. The first thing to do is to diagnose the problem, and then go back to ford and prove to them what the problem is. I would look at the back end first, and go from there. Ben.

Whilst I hate to hear of guys having problems I feel that you should only really be complaining bitterly if the car is left at stock... As soon as you up the kw's U need to be prepared that things may no longer be as strong and this could mean that things start breaking... Complaining that your car has only gone x number of km's before breaking (and saying that they are piece's of :stirthepot: because of it) well fair enough until you start bragging about how many kw's your pulling...

Whilst I don't think Ford should be allowed to get away with using the line "It's within Normal specifications" if something is wrong, I do think that if your pulling really good kw's you also need to understand that :tease: will break...

PS to the guys whom mod...

I'm not having a go at you modding your cars, I love hearing about great times at the track but it goes back to the "you play you pay" principal...

edit: I really should have put on the flame suit myself before posting this...

Just a quick note - the car IS totally stock with no mods whatsoever. I have wanted to do some mods but have had too many troubles to bother with them, and quite frankly if I am having so many troubles now I hate to think what will happen with a few extra kw's..... :stirthepot:

My car was also stock with driveline clunking, its now worse with 22k km on the clock, but its still :stirthepot: normal.

I am suprised Ford did not hear the bas*ard clunking as it went down the production line :tease:

Hey XRFury,

Sorry I was going to put in something saying this is more a general rant in regards to modded T problems than problems with your car in specific (I realise your car is stock which makes it twice as bad that it is having troubles)... I hope Ford pull their finger out and get all your problems fixed... Especially as it is still completely stock...

I was more complaining about ppl bagging out the T saying it's a flimsy car after they have doubled the power output beyond what the original manufacture built it at and are then wondering why did it fall apart...

As I said all the best in getting all the problems sorted...

Um.......got a late 03 manual with 240 rwkw (not big power but more than stock)that's done 20,000 km and apart from tired shockers and saw toothed tyres from being driven pretty bloody hard which produces a bit of tyre noise;we haven't had any backlash, gearbox or diff noise whatsoever!I feel sorry for the guys with problems but my point is that Ford can build them properly!Pity they're not all built like ours?

Mine was completely stock when I had all the problems. I eventually gave up waiting for Ford to get their :spoton: together after nearly 15 months. I then went and modded and took responsibility for anything on the car that went wrong from there on in.

Totally agree if it was having issues with mods, but mine were there a long time before the power came along. In fact by modding the car I solved a few niggling issues with it like, clunk, stalling, surging and so forth.
