Had same issues as you guys. Just got hold of some touch-up paint and you can't see the scratches unless you stick your ugly mug under the spoiler.

Make sure you go over the touched up area with a little polish(after the paint dries properly) as this helps to smooth out your handy work. Then a good thick coat of wax (buffed off to a nice shine) and it comes up very well. Then don't worry about it...that's my 2 cents.

You been using Goldie or maybe Dynowog's spell checker mate?! :w00t2:

For scrapes couldn't you sand them out going from rough through to smooth wet & dry sandpaper?

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but why would you want to fix it up underneath anyway - surely nobody can even see the scrapes?!  :w00t2:  :w00t2:

Well you see bugster it goes like this......quite a few of the gentlemen posting in this thread spend allot of time on their hands and knees so they would notice it and murmur something to the effect of "owww loookey heeere, there ith a scwatch under my pwecious carr"

But yeah, it's under the car FFS where the only time a normal person would see it is when changing the oil. Can’t really see the point.

most of you guys would sh!t if you saw my yoot. Every spoiler has no paint on the underside (including the rear). I was initally stressed about it,but that's what you get if you lower it 70mm. After a lot of testing, I came to the conclusion that the scatches do SFA to the handeling or the over all power of the car (before and after dyno sheets can be supplied) so stuff worring, now I just do in it what I brought it for (flogging the guts out of it) and carring bikes and crap to site.

Nice mining. Would you check out this poof...

Hi Guys

My near new Phoon ( 3400ks) as well as my previous T ,have experienced numerous scratches and scrapes to the underside of the front spoiler. Mostly at the expence of the old mans slightly steeper than normal driveway :gooff: no matter how slow I take it, I can just get it up ( STFU) but in reverse seems to scrape no matter what angle I take it at.... go figure what comes up must come down, right? :puke:

:blaah: :blaah: :blaah:

Ohhh...I got a scratch UNDER my car.:msm:

Help..Im looking through any posts I can find about how to fix deep scratches in plastic bumpers, Yesterday I scraped the front of the bumper on a high curb in macca's driveway, my fault but f@cking annoying. Just rang insurance (Just Car) and it will be a $550 excess, so im hoping it will be cheaper to fix myself...

Looking online ill need a putty and primer for plastic to help with the flex to stop cracking. Is there anyone out there than can steer me in the right direction regarding products and any tips for applications

cheers

Firstly , whom and why do you recommend a repairer for this kind of touch up and how much?

and......

Secondly ,should you protect the underside from scraping with a tape or some such thing

I am sure I am not the first to admit to scraping the spoiler and wont be the last, but would like to get it fixed and also prevent damage to this part in the future. Feedback as always is welcomed. Other than learn to drive that is :secret:

Ouch nothing worse on a new machine.

Mate on 013 I put that stick on headlight and number plate see through plastic tape like the factory uses down the rear edge of the front guards. Its about $50 from Supa Cheap for a roll and its tougher than it looks and does save the paint under the front centre and corners, if you scrape it the film will absord the scratch and you just peel off the old bit and stick on a new one, a roll would be good for 4 or 5 complete applications under the whole front. I decided to wait and just do a pre sale respray on the bumper so I havn't bothered to put it on 284 which sports the usual wounds under the front. I don't think there would be many in that don't.
