Cheers Guys, been looking on the fuel websites, I always thought 95 RON was premium and 91 Ron was normal unleaded, guess I never really thought about 98 RON.

Looks like a toss up between BP and Caltex.

I use Motorpass! Get whatever fuel I want when I want and as it's after Tax I don't pay any bloody FBT!! WIN WIN as far as I'm concerned!!!!!

:stirthepot:

I also have motorpass, why limit yourself to one supplier.

I also prefer BP Ulitmate as Opticrap puts soot all over the back of my car :spoton: , Mobile charge 11c p/l more for 98 RON  and there is no caltex nearby

Whats the scoop with Motorpass. Does it work just like a credit card?

yep, you only need to be careful with theindependant servos, some do not accept it.

My card will let me buy anything I want, yet my staff only have taxi, parking, fuel and oil. They also give you full tax compliance invoices, so you do not need to keep the receipts :stirthepot:

There is also a card called a Fleet Card that does the same.

I live in wa an the only 98 octane fuel is ultimate. I am wondering if it would be bad to use premium (avail everywhere) and an octane booster? is using these all the time bad? do they clog up after heaps of use?

I figured it would be better than getting reamed of $1.20/L + on a regular basis..

cheers

If you use just the 95RON premium with a stock car would be fine.

If you plan on modding the car then get it tuned to whatever fuel you plan to use.

Buying the 95RON and putting octaine booster in would cost much more than the few cents p/l extra they charge for the 98RON.

If you are planning on coming to Darwin, grab the BP card. Although we have Caltex servo's here none of them have premium fuels.

Also on the way up the middle (Stuart Highway) there are plenty of BP's, and all have at least 95RON. We drove from Darwin to Cairns last year and got all the way without having to use 'standard' unleaded.

Watch out for the cost though! I run my Ute on Ultimate and it costs $1.35/L here!

How about MOTORCHARGE,

I'm not sure if MOTORCHARGE and MOTORPASS are the same, but I've been running a MotorCharge card now for approximately 14months, its never been knocked back at any service station.

The added benefit to MotorCharge (if its leased though such groups as SMB Novalease) is that not only fuels are covered, but oils, additives, and if your lucky enough to find a workshop that services FLEET vehicles they too will accept this card. Just like Autotech Engineering

Feel free to PM me for information.

Darren

I normally use Caltex Vortex. I tried the 98 RON version, but never noticed much difference. I suspect that is because, in Queensland, the Caltex Vortex is 96 RON, not 95 (or so I've been told)
