Bayford in Melbourne stock part number BA2T 9C676 A and does NOT require VIN.  Price = $86.13.  Guess what I'm getting on the weekend :)

I presume this is just for the snorkel?

Can the bottom part of the typhoon airbox be ordered as well, so that you don't have to cut the original one?

Better option is the XR8 snorkal - same size half the price and the part number is the same :crybaby::spit: (instead of BA2 = MKII) its BA T 9C676

I just fitted the Typhoon intake - easy job, perfect fit (no problem cutting the hole in the original airbox).

The XR8 snorkel is designed to fit a round casing, so is not as good as the Typhoon one, so I decided that the few extra dollars was worth it. (plus it cost more here in NZ anyway - another freight bill and additional markup).

buggers- about twice that in NZ$ and that's with me knowing the parts guy and getting a good deal from him (has to pass the cost on unfortunately).

By the way - to the guys who have fitted it - did you reinstall the lower/third bolt on the bottom half of the airbox which is hidden away under the snorkel? If so - how? Did you install the airbox with snorkel attached (as I did), or install the snorkel after the airbox is mounted in?

I did the same as you.. Didnt put the third bolt back it.. the box is holding strong, the CAI holds it in well!

I haven't fitted mine yet, but yes, I've heard the same. Apparently it's pretty rock solid with the new 2nd CAI and there is no real need for that third bolt. But I also understand that a few members HAVE done up the third bolt by going through the hole they cut out for the CAI? I'll see how tricky it all is when I eventually get round to doing it myself!

I'm not having a go at anyone, but I paid $82.00 for my Typhoon CAI, yet people say "foreget that" or go to Bunnings Hardware and make one from PVC tubing.

OK at the end of the day performance between genuine or home made is marginal at best, but we all have paid $30K to 50K or more for our rides and yet some complain at spending $50 - $80.

I personally think that the extra money is well worth spending!
