Need from friendly advice about letting my local dealer repair some stone chip damage on my T. Happened last weekend on the way to Dubbo, unfortuntely a truck through up a quarry load of stones just as I was passing on the highway. The front bar is peppered quite a lot and when I looked at the rest of the car in the sunlight today, I notice more chips on bonnet and front guards. Anyway touch up paint won't do it justice, so I'd like it repaired and I'll most probably invest in one of those car bras for next time. After seeing the car this morning, the local Ford dealer paint shop gave me a written quote of $940. This entails prime and paint the complete front end and all misc. work associated in doing that. On the face of it, sounds reasonable but I'd appreciate any experience/advice anyone else has. Thanks!Ben

My feeling is that you have a good chance of a quality job.I've used a dealer panel shop to repair crash damage before and was very happy with the result. If I was you I would have a look at my insurance policy and find out weather or not your excess is less than that $940. If it is and your a rating one I could they option, you cant really loose !!! Insurance claim is out cause I opted for a $2k excess to get my premium down to $500/yr.The dealer I took it to have a paint & panel shop onsite so I'm reasonably sure the job will be good. If not then I'll keep taking it back until it is right. The quote lists everything they would remove and replace as well so hopefully no overspray on headlights etc.Believe me it seemed exxy to me too. But if it's a reasonable price then I'm happy paying for a good job though.Cheers!Ben
