OK guys well ive had a few PMs and a few ppl in topics ask a bit about the car so I thought id make a thread to answer all questions...

The following pics give u a fair idea of whats done and what not with the main idea behind the car being for show, not go

OK the specs of the car are as follows:

Car: BA Mk1 XT

Mods:

- 20" Vault Kaotik wheels

- Lowered with Kings springs (SL in the front, Reset SL's in the rear) shortened Monroe shocks and full camber/caster kit in he front.

- window tint

- De-Badged

- Duel outlet 2.5" cat back exhaust with centre muffler removed and replaced with tiny resonator

- rockford fosgate sound system

Future Mods:

- extractors

- some form of induction improvement

OK a couple of answers to questions

Q: why spend all this money on an XT and not just buya T or an 8???

A: when I owned my T ute, insurance was costing me $1900 a year. The XT costs me $820 a year (Im 22) I am young, ive owned my fast car (the T ute) and I have found a girl, am looking to settle down and in the meantime, the XT has cost me a fraction of what a Turbo would.

Q: what gains have my mods got me???

A: unsure as this car was built for cruising, not as a performance car. I really dont see the point in spending millions of dollars on an NA car when bost is at your doorstep and u can go so much further with it.

A couple of questions:

Who did your suspension work and how much $$$? (if you dont mind my asking)

Is the Rockford system stand-alone or integrated with Ford's head unit?

How does the exhaust sound being a dual system? I've heard they can sound worse than a single system on NA cars (don't know why).

I'm keen on doing a similar project as I'm a young bloke too (21). Well done on the stance of the car mate, I've always preferred the kitless look. Looks better than alot of XR6Ts I've seen

Bald is beautiful!No badges or spoiler gives a very clean look.A mate of mine has an XT in red with the same treatment and it looks very nice too.Could I suggest body coloured protection mouldings on the doors to complete the picture like my mates XT.Just finishes it off nicely.

good work mate, love the car, im gunna be gettin 18's on my XT, superlows with gabriel ultra shocks, HOPEFULLY an SS induction and extractors+exhaust, your ride looks great,...ever thought about colour coating your black stripes down the side...it has crossed my mind cuz I got a white BA with those strips, I'll send ya some pics of my car when I get the suspension and wheels, within the next 2-3 weeks, cheers.

A word of advice Troy. Don't go cruising Brighton-le-Sands with all the bling-bling boys cause the cops will bust you for that window tint and probably the rear suspension height as well. That first photo looks like you're carrying a load of bricks in the boot!!

I'm not a big fan of polished chrome rims but those Kaotik's look pretty good. I dig those quad pipes too. Do you have a picture of the Rockford-Fosgate?

Well done mate at 22 your very mature for your age car looks mad,wish I had something like that when I was 22.But like you said it`s a cruiser and a lot of the young folk out there should really wake up to themselves,do they really need a fast car or could they do with a machine that looks great and 185 kw is no slouch either. I know you said you have had fast cars sometimes it takes someone that has experienced fast cars to say yeah it`s nice to have a fast car but like you said the dollars you save now on insutance etc means you can put it towards a late model turbo or GT ina couple years from now.

You got the thumbs up from me mate.As well I must say your girl must be pretty impressed too.Good luck with your plans and hope they work out.And fast cars will always be there when you want one so your really not missing much.

Well done Mate, looks great! Feel sorry for some of the sensible young guys and girls around that get stung so bad with insurance. As a couple of people have suggested can't do much more to improve on the look you've created but I agree that colour coded trims would look good and maybe even a very sutble rear lip wing (DJR style)

Looks pretty cool, I had a slower car myself for a little while until I built up insurance (Ok it was a Laser, but was a new one...) I don't normally like just the plain XT but lowered with the rims and tint makes it look bloody cool... (I also think WW has worked in this case...)
