Hey guys, greetings from the US, you guys have some cool cars we can't get :spit: . I was trying to find out what the Xr6T engine block and crank can handle. We are looking to build a Fox body race car with a Y2K-88 and either a Xr6T engine or 2JZ. My only problem is their is not much data in the US about the XR6T engine and its capabilites. We already have lots of data on the 2JZ, but I would like to keep it an all Ford car. I am curious if anyone has pushed these engine over 1400-1500hp yet? I know the 2JZ's will do with the proper rods, pistons and half hard block. Also what standalone engine management if any is available for the Xr6T engine. Also, what is the going rate for one of these Xr6T engines go for??

Thanks

Jose

Thanks for the link. We are looking to push this car to 1400rwhp running methanol and are looking for all the info possible. I see Motec seems to be the engine management of choice. If Motec will run the engine, then our FAST system should able to as well. Also looks like a sheetmetal intake will need to be fabricated, which is not a problem. Is their any other sites with tech info?? Looks like that site is mostly bolt-on parts.

Thanks

jz you wont find much at all in the way of hardcore engine parts listings etc.

the market here is too small!!!

there would be only 2-3 1000hp plus engines in aust and all by nizpro but plenty of other capable of this too just very few people wanting this or more to the point going out of their way to acheive it!!!!

sounds like you have built a few powerful cars this will be no different and every thing is custom made anyway other than rods and pistons all other internals will be 1 off's

sure some of us have cnc programs already set up to speed the process up but very low volumes!!!!

good luck with your reasurch and email me if you like!!!

Thanks for the help, but yeah I have already seen the market is not very large yet for that engine. Looks like alot will have to be custom made. We do have CNC and flowbench facilities that help us. And yes we build a few fast cars.....

www.forcedinductions.com and www.proturbokits.com

Thanks

Makes me wonder. That sort of hp.....when will we see some *real* money and not just local heroes spending their hard earned $ on 10's on the 4.0 T for our amusement?

Is it the same old cubic capacity is everything story?

I found this while looking around and thought $$$ is all it is......: http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/A_2587/article.html

My biggest problem is availability. You can not find these engines in the US, so we are stuck trying to find one outside the US and then trying to ship it back...which is mega bucks. I am trying to see if some of these engine importing companies in the US can help us get one of these engines.

Not quite sure of the going rate for an XR6T engine. I would think somewhere around 7-20k...

As for big horespower engines,

There has also been 3 T's that have run 10 sec passes 2 of which are privately owned and are driven every day on the street as their daily driver. Make sure u let us know how u go
