You're better off getting a ATX > Xbox convertor board from GRC Mods and using a EPIA style 12v PSU

I can assure you of this Doing your own PSU is stright forward enough if you've got PSu design experience though and the voltages are the same for any xbox, justt he pin-outs changed.

I have a brand new UNMODIFIED (ie Legal) Xbox that outputs NTSC here.  It is possible to set a xbox to NTSC output without opening the case and installing a modchip.  The box then functions exactly like a stocker...

It's for sale as I don't need 3 xboxes (it was a raffle prize from the local club).

Im looking to do this in the near future ( get my T in June)

I have modded about 45 xboxs in my time, and understand like most of you the ins and outs of the xbox. However I have no idea how to make an auto switcher etc ( to turn it on automatically etc)

I figured Id just buy the cable from ASL, and then all I have to do is ask them to make it long enough for the boot. Have the power run to the boot. Have the xbox in some kind of always on state ie no button press required.

Anyone know where I can buy a "auto switcher" from?

BTW I am working on an xbmc skin that when the xbox boots shows the ford logo with xr6 turbo written in silver script, which then fades to xbmc, and a python skript starts palying a random selcetion of music videos.

Will post the script closer to my project.

For those guys that have completed an xbox install, what apps do you find are needed/useful/cool to use for the xbox.

I am modding mine in a week or so(once my supplier gets the chips back in stock), and fitting a 300gb hdd(I don't want to run out of space.......ever )

I am going to use XBMC, but that's about all I know about. I have read there is one you need to convert the PAL to NTSC but could not find its name. Also one to rip the games/movies etc. to the hdd(DVD2xbox I think).

What others are there that are worth getting?

XBMC does just about everythng you'll need. Plays just about every type of movie and music file.

IF your putting games on the xbox off dvd, just stick the game in the dvd drive and use the file manager thing in XBMC to copy them straight across to the hard drive. No converting/hacking required.

If you're downloading xbox iso's from the net use a prog called Qwix to take the iso file from your pc (which won't read the file at all) and put it on your xbox via network. It saves using nero to burn the dvd then copy it.

XBMC has an FTP server built in so putting stuff off your pc to xbox is easy, just get a client side FTP program for your pc something like WSftp is fine.

Sweet thanks! Does XBMC do the PAL-NTSC switch? Or would that be in the bios that I use? Or is there another program that does it?
